I would not recommend this place for healthcare services. I had an appointment today to get a physical. The lady in the photo works at reception. A Desk Clerk if you will but she tries to make her position seem more important than it is.
Interacting with her was not pleasant. The unprofessionalism is unreal! I entered the building, spoke kindly, relayed that I have an appointment, and presented my insurance cards and identification. I'm using my indoor voice because the area where the reception desk is located echos when you're speaking. The receptionist literally yells at people, which sometimes that could be a hearing problem, but I don't know because I'm not a certified doctor. When she yelled at me, I asked her very calmly to lower her voice when speaking to me. She got louder as if she were trying to intimidate me. I asked the receptionist again not to yell at me. It catches attitude with me only to say, "Your mask muffles your words." I spoke up just a little and it proceeded to outright scream at me which prompted staff to come from the back of the office up front to the reception desk.
All of this screaming to the top of its lungs was very unnecessary especially when I was triggered so severely by her outbursts that I could have easily become physical with that thing, however, knowing that people like that play victim to their own circumstances that they create for themselves, I opted not to engage any further and began speaking with Dr. Lynch who had come up front to assess the situation.
All of this mess was about the fact that Allcare didn't inform me as a patient that I'd have to have all of my insurances verified to be seen. Verification needs to be done by me which is practically me doing their job for them and having said this aloud while mumbling to myself, the receptionist jumped out of its seat, with the intention to intimidate me. I wasn't flinching. Every time I tried to speak with the doctor who was addressing me, the receptionist would cut across me very loudly to try to make her point that had nothing to do with what I was saying. I told the doctor that I'd pay out of pocket for my appointment if there was that much of a problem with them verifying my insurance. The receptionist screamed to interrupt again and I put my hand up in a "Stop" motion and told the receptionist that, "No one was talking to them," which upset the receptionist even more.
I had to do this stop motion several times and reiterate to them that I was not talking to them. The receptionist was adamant about being rude to me and they disrespected the doctor in their face while screaming at me, "I'm not going to keep letting you put your hand in my face!!!" My hand was never in the receptionist face especially with them being four feet on the other side of the desk. I was waiting for the receptionist to touch me and I was going to have them arrested for assault. I may confer with a lawyer to see if I have a civil suit for the mental anguish, stress, and anxiety the receptionist caused me today, Sat., June 15, 2024.
This is not a place that can possibly care for my health when I'm being stressed out before being seen. Not to mention that the young lady that works there who is currently pregnant told me that the staff there has warned the receptionist about how loud they are, they're consistently loud, and to tone it down.
The receptionist even loudly said, "I can't help it if the lady doesn't like the way I talk!" Their coworker stated to them that it is their delivery and it comes off rude and with attitude. The receptionist didn't care.
There were a bunch of phone calls made to try to address the issue, however, there was no resolution. Not to mention that the receptionist was on their personal phone texting during work hours.
I wasted my time, gasoline, and definitely my patience having gone there. Monday morning, I will be calling my insurance company to switch providers. I don't even want therapeutic services there any longer. I would not recommend this facility. 1 â Star. If I could give zero...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible facility, go anywhere else if you are at all able. I did a telehealth visit here when I had severe ear and throat pain. The doctor was on the video call for maybe ten minutes total and then told me to go to their K Street location the next day to get COVID and other testing done. Allcare texted me a link to fill out at that location to let them know when I was there so they could come let me in. I got there and filled out the link. Nothing. I knocked on the door. Nothing. I called their phone number and the person who answered told me that they had closed the location, which an Allcare physician had told me to go to literally one day prior. I asked where I could go to get my testing and the Allcare representative told me a location in Virginia was closest. I took an Uber out there. The person at the desk told me that did not do the kind of testing that the doctor I had seen ordered. At that point, I cut my losses and went into the emergency room. I ended up being hospitalized for five days because of how serious my condition had gotten.
I emailed Allcare and asked them to refund my clinic fee seeing as the doctor had told me to go to a clinic that was NOT EVEN OPEN, and then a different representative told me to go to a different clinic that DIDN'T DO THE TESTING I NEEDED. On July 6, Allcare's Feedback emailed back telling me that my email had been forwarded to the billing department to be refunded. Lo and behold, my credit card statement comes in and they had NOT in fact refunded my money. I emailed that email address again twice and no response. I called billing yesterday and left a message that was never returned. I called a different Allcare number today and somehow got through to a different billing department where the representative told me that she would have to check with her supervisor, who wasn't there that day, to see if the could process the refund. Mind you, this is almost a MONTH after Allcare told me that my email was being forwarded to billing so that my refund could be processed.
If you want somewhere that gives terrible advice, gets you on the computer for five minutes and rushes you off for a high fee, is completely incompetent, and then tells you they're going to refund your money only to try to backtrack a MONTH later, this is the place for you! I just wish they would give me my refund so that I can stop dealing with the consequences of their TERRIBLE care a...
Read moreAVOID AT ALL COSTS. Reposting the email I sent to their corporate feedback dept. Worst dr experience of my life.
I never write reviews or leave complaints/feedback for businesses, but this felt necessary. Earlier today, I fell down the stairs and heard many loud cracks in my foot and was unable to put weight on it. I had to get an uber to drive me to the AllCare location at 1710 Rhode Island Ave NW in Washington, D.C (where I have seen a PCP before). I was literally hopping on one foot to get into the clinic as the receptionist just stared at me. I told her what had happened and that I needed my foot to be evaluated. She immediately said âMaybe just go to the ERâ. Then once I said I had no way to get there without waiting for another ride and was in severe pain, she checked me in and pointed me to the waiting room, continuing to just watch as I could barely walk there on my own. She said they didnât have crutches, and then I guess it was no longer her issue. The medical assistant or nurse who then called me back to the office watched as, again, I hobbled down the hallway on one foot, whilst she offered zero assistance. She then asked me to get on the scale. I had to say âI literally cannotâ and it still didnât seem to process that I couldnât step up on a scale or walk at all. She then just told me to go to a treatment room, again, offering no help at all. The doctor barely looked at my foot before telling me to go somewhere else. The entire team was uncaring, unfeeling, and gave no assistance as I had to once again embarrassingly hop down the entire hallway to leave having received absolutely no help. I had to call another uber to take me to an ER.
I wanted to cry in this office. I am in so much pain and currently in the waiting room of an ER. I came into the allcare office alone, clearly in immense discomfort, nursing an injury that was most likely made much worse by the fact that I had to continually put weight on it since nobody offered me any help in the office. I am never coming back. I hope that there is perhaps someone who can at least give the employees of this location a quick course in customer care or even bedside manner, as I work in the veterinary field and have given literal animals more care and concern than the employees of this location showed me. I didnât make any fuss in the office but it is upsetting to think others are getting the same kind of treatment I...
