Where do I begin, our son's laptop battery became swollen to the point that the frame of his laptop started to separate and looked like it was going to burst open (see pics). He goes to school in DC and we live in California, so we had no idea what to do or where to take it to get it fixed, so we started to look around and by some stroke of luck we found Laptop Repair Geeks of DC and we could not be more grateful. Richard and Darnell were beyond helpful in diagnosing the issue, ordering a new battery, installing the new battery, and picking up and dropping off the laptop. The swollen battery case ended up being the most severe case they have seen in 8 years of business!!! The left side of the battery casing/frame was lodged/stuck under the motherboard and the center structure of the battery has split exposing the battery's internal cells. To say it was in BAD shape is an understatement and they weren't sure if they would be able to fix it, but they did it!!! It was no easy task....they had to remove the motherboard to free the battery from the chassis to replace it. Their work was impeccable and they did it very quickly and kept us posted on their progress the whole time. On top of the wonderful repair job, they also cleaned the internal chassis and associated CPU/GPU fans (which were very dirty!!!). We are beyond happy and just grateful for the service received. With finals coming up in a couple of weeks, it would have been challenging for our son not to have his laptop and they fixed it and got it back to him quickly and the cost was very, very reasonable. Excellent HONEST Service! OVER AND BEYOND! First of all, I should mention that I received service 2 years before for a laptop I dropped. I thought it was a goner. They came and picked it up, called me to let me know the status and said "we can fix this" and then let me know what the next steps were. Fast forward two years later, my computer screen started going in and out....then one day...I opened it it was just a white screen. Of course I started to freak out. I then looked up the company that I remembered using (Laptop Repair). Darnell answered the phone when I called. When I talk about AMAZING customer service, Darnell has it! We talked about the computer for 15 minutes. He told me what he thought it might be and the root cause. Which sounded right to me. THEN he gave me 3 game plans! He also said he can have the computer picked up. He called me that day to let me know he had my computer (laptop). He informed me that he would call later to let me know what was going on with it. He did just that. The pricing was very clear! There was no feeling of someone "getting over" on me. I thought about just having it repaired, which he said he could do, but my system was so outdated. It would be better if I just got the external hard drive, had them transfer the data and purchase a new computer at a later date. I appreciated the honesty. When I got the computer back....literally, I think it was in better condition then when I sent it to them. They wiped it down and made it look shiny, repackaged it with care, sent me the hard drive with instructions, then CALLED me to explain everything they did and if I had any questions to call them. My laptop wouldn't turn on after I kept fiddling with a broken power cord on my laptop, so I thought the power jack needed to be replaced. I found Laptop Repair Geeks after researching other companies and submitted my request for repair on their website. I received an email within an hour detailing what needed to happen along with the cost for parts, shipping and repair. I approved the estimate and arranged for someone to pick up my laptop the next day which they do at no additional cost!

Darnell came to pick up my laptop and within a few hours he told me that my motherboard had shorted out. He said it would be cheaper for me to replace my laptop than to replace the motherboard, but I needed information that was on the laptop so I told him I had no choice but to replace it. I told him I would try to find a used one and that I would get back to him.

Darnell called me an hour or so later and said he had another option that would be cheaper. He said he could swap the hard drive from the broken laptop and put it in a second laptop that I had as a backup so I could retrieve the information I needed without having to replace the motherboard. That sounded like the perfect solution, so we did the swap. It only cost me $89, I was able to get what I needed, and I never had to leave my office.

I can't say enough about the outstanding customer service and quality of work I received from Darnell. Not only was he punctual and extremely professional, but he went out of his way to save me money.
