First time ordering and definitely will be the last time. Listen. I've been in the industry for 25 years. I understand that people get things wrong, but this was not only the ultimate wrong, the cook doesn't even know the difference between scrambled eggs and just chopping up over medium eggs, which is what I got. I wasted an hour of my time and $25 for this catastrophe (to note they did refund my money, this is me just referencing how much it cost for a simple breakfast) to not only get the one item completely incorrect, that was so easy to make (and that I was charged extra for). But then I got chopped up over medium eggs served as scrambled eggs. This might seem petty, but this is a breakfast restaurant and if you're going to serve only breakfast and brunch you should probably do it to a stellar degree or you'll be going down very quickly in this industry, which I predict this is going to happen for this place very fast. Save yourself the time, money and frustration and gas if you're ordering to go, since you will likely have to drive it all the way back. I would assume based on the reviews I just read and the fact that there was not a single customer in the building dining, the word has unfortunately spread pretty quickly about this place and they should do a complete overhaul and fast! On a side note, I was frustrated with the server, and it's not their fault so I hope for their tips sake, they get a better...
Read more$11 for two eggs and some toast. $4 for drip coffee. $15 for a ham sandwich and fries. $9 for oatmeal. Was pretty excited for a new little breakfast spot to open up after Dennys and Sharis closed, but I think these guys missed the point.
A diner is for people who want to eat a filling breakfast with simple ingredients and low prices, knowing it's all stuff they have at home for pennies, but don't have time to make.
Why would I spend $20 per person here when there are actual sitdown restaurants next door? Why would I pay $15 for a ham sandwich when Five Sisters Thai, Miako or Pho Roll can give me something much more complex and tasty for the same price? I can get 2lbs of decent food from Panda or Taco Time for $10. I can inexplicably get cheaper coffee at Starbucks. This place is honestly making Subway look appealing - horrifying thought.
This cafe had an assignment: be a cheap, casual, local eatery where you could feasibly eat 5x a week if you're too lazy to make eggs. Instead it's competing directly with a dozen fancier places around it and I just don't know why I'd ever eat here. Not a strong first impression.
I guess not every diner can be as great...
Read moreTLDR: Very Poor quality/portion of food for the price.
We ordered corned beef hash w English muffin, hash browns, over medium eggs & chicken fried steak with hash browns, over medium eggs. Letâs start with the good: eggs were cooked correctly. Corned beef was real beef, and very good! Now the bad: very poor value for what you pay. Total price was around $42 for two meals. The amount of corned beef hash was laughable; literally, we laughed. It was as if I had ordered the last bit they had or it was my to go container after my hypothetical sit-down meal. See picture, all was gone within a couple bites and was not worth ~$19. Chicken fried steak size was unbelievable. All in all around the same size as half of an English muffin. It was over cooked and tough, while also being cold at the same time. Hash browns from both meals were inedible. Cold, oily, old. Taste/texture makes me think they cooked it during the rush, fridged the extras, and threw it back on the grill with more oil/cover to warm. Disappointing and somewhat ironic; my gf was reading the bad reviews before ordering, I told her those were from their âsoftâ opening. Welp.
Please...
