King City Restaurant — Restaurant in Washington

I decided to pay them a visit from a flyer that was stuck in my the other day. I ordered my food over the telephone and went down to pick it up. First thing I notice is that it is not a Chinese restaurant but a Chinese carryout. The entrance is right off the main Avenue so it's to park on the side streets, no problem. The it's not as small and quite worned. As with other small carryouts they have plexiglass area where you order menu items and prices are pasted all over with a small break-in advertise items to order and to see what you're actually talking to. It's almost similar what you see on TV about maximum prisons food slots but just a little bit bigger enough to put your money or credit card on the plexiglass turnstile and the receive your food. Lol! Interesting I was the only customer in the place and it took about three minutes before anyone there knew that I was present but I gave them my order number pay for the food and within 5 minutes I was on my way home. I ordered the large shrimp lo mein and four chicken wings separately and was not disappointed. The chicken wings were fried just right not greasy and my large shrimp lo mein was actually in a large portion then my regular go to carry out it in my neighborhood. The shrimp lo mein tasted good with plenty of vegetables and shrimp. Actually I was pleasantly surprised at the taste of the food based on my initial impression of the decor of a place. The staff behind the menu littered window was friendly and my meal was actually a $1.50 cheaper than my go-to place. I give it a three stars for neighbor(hood) convenience and if you need something quick, good and fast: however, doing peak hours I can imagine parking being an issue and the interior could use a makeover. Again this is based on my first time and impression of patronizing the King...

Not worth it. Waste of time and money. Food is good but the service is terrible. I’ve ordered here before without issue, but today was different. I called to order since they had placed a menu on my apartment door, then they hung up immediately after receiving my card info. No “thank you”, no ETA or anything. When I called to check on the status I was told the food was out for delivery. 25 minutes after that call, still no food. I called back and they said it would be another 5-10 minutes then hung up again before I could respond. Called 13 minutes after that and was hung up on again. After more than an hour and 15 minutes I still have no food. But they have my debit card info. This feels like a SCAM. I requested a refund after 45 minutes of them insisting my food was on the way and would be delivered in a red car. Going to continue checking my bank account and any signs of fraud....

Literally just ordered food from King City and I am HIGHLY disappointed. So disappointed to the point I hung up the phone to write this review. Their customer service is horrible. The guy on the other end of the phone continuously interrupted me and laughed at me when I told him I was disappointed with my meal. He laughed and said "you're the only one that has complained about our food." They refused to bring me something else, disregarding the fact that I paid almost $20 for a meal they delivered that didn't taste as if it was cooked thoroughly. The food was disgusting. I couldn't even force myself to swallow the food I had in my mouth. I will NEVER order from them again. The only reason I gave them one star is because zero stars...
