Today my family and I just wanted to get out the heat to cool off and have some family fun, but the moment we entered It was an issue. The staff who works at the front who has to check IDs was training a young man but also moving extra slow, which caused us to wait at least 30 minutes to get in the pool on top of that the line started to get long so people started to get impatient. The older lady who was a life guard was pleasant her and the female security guard at the front desk, but the older male life guard made my husband and sons uncomfortable he was rude and more concerned with Patrons changing in the locker room than his life guard post. I really wish the older lady had stayed because after they switched life guards things started to become way to strict and I get it's for safety reasons, but my husband and I felt like the young girl with the lace front start just blowing the whistle for just about everything the kids would do, Now here is the part that got me the young female with the lace front and the lashes why come to work like that as a life guard? Now what if you had to actually had to jump in and save someone, would you? Or would you let them drown and be more worried about your hair and beatification accessories? The basketball court is in the pool for a reason for the kids to play, it seems like every time she got a little water on her she would get mad, now the fact that she was too concerned with getting splashed by water and messing up her hair was just ridiculous! You're a life guard it's part of your job. So she decided to take the ball from the children, interrupting their fun that was foul. Next time don't come to work with a lace front and lashes on and be upset at kids playing with the pool basketball court when you work at a pool, or better yet choose another field. Her attitude was nasty, and even the kids felt it "sad" to...
Read moreI never have an issue when coming here. The pool is always operable and the staff is welcoming. The pool may be a little cold for seniors and children but we made it work. I love lap swimming here and when I brought my niece for the tots class it was too cute.
The instructions to pay for lap swim can be found on the website. It’s as simple as 123. Make sure you bring a lock to secure your items in the locker room. Also, Parking is tough but every time I came, I got a spot right out front. Just be mentally prepared for that.
I will definitely be back here and I recommend others...
Read moreThis is just for the pool area as that is the only part of the Rec Ctr we visit. Incredible indoors pool. I have gone to quite a few indoor pools all over DC, like Rumsey and Wilson Aquatic Ctr for toddler swim lessons, and this is the best one. Water is warmer here, and the splash area and the fountain area for the kids are really fun. It also helps that the pool area somehow feels more open and well lit than some of the others. Also we had a terrific experience with a swim instructor here. The only downside is finding parking nearby...
