They did not answer phones at all, went in to make an order. Staff was not attentive at all. After waiting in line without a smile or a "hey we will be right with you" from anyone. Literally NOTHING! I might also add they are semi busy, still lots of empty tables...Finally a girl asks me for my order. No personality, no customer service. I order my food, I ask specifically for brown gravy, not breakfast gravy. Girl takes my order. I wait in my car since I didn't want to stand for 15 mins. I come back in, wait for an obscene amount of time the girl at the front counter this time (different than before) asks me how she can help me. I tell her I need to pick up my to-go order. She asks for my name, the girl before never takes my name (insert eye roll). I tell her what my order is, again I say side of brown gravy. While she is putting the order together, a male server comes and asks if I've been helped, I said yes, but asked if anyone answers the phones for TO-go orders at all? He said they were short staffed and apologized. She comes back with my order it was stapled shut and the girl is asking for payment. I told her since I sat on hold with no answer, we came down to order in person its paid for, she seems confused. I grab the order and leave, get all the way back to my office give my coworker her food. The gravy is sausage gravy, she's frustrated, I'm even more annoyed than I already was to begin with. SOOOOOOO We call I'm on hold again for like 10 mins, she calls and gets right through. The girl at the counter is rude and says they don't carry brown gravy.....So why we were charged for gravy and not told (when ordered) that they don't carry brown gravy is terrible customer service. I would have chosen not to pay for something we didn't ask for. She told the girl we should have been told that at the time the order was placed. While on the phone with the girl, my coworkers to-go container was cracked and leaked all over her desk, calendar and clothes...There is no management on site, no one to talk to, NOTHING. Being in the service industry for over half my life. Less than impressed here. The food was decent, but not...
Read moreWent in for a nice breakfast for 2.. got a cold reception, was rushed to decide every 2 minutes from the time we sat down til we ordered, recieved an improperly cooked egg, the lemon raspberry frenchtoast was good though tiny as a childs portion, after a wait, they replaced the eggs, however I felt that the waitress was mad at me, for her bringing a mistake to the table, and expecting me to change my lifelong opinion on how I like my eggs. She was also very prompt to bring the check and seemed to be rushing us out, even went as far as to throw a to-go clamshell almost onto my wife's plate when a minute before we said neither of us needed one, as we weren't yet done eating and would not require them, wasn't like it was a huge portion for the price. Which personally was ill timed as it was the first solo meal the wife and I have had without kids in quite some time. The fact that the lowest tip % shown to tip is 20% was also quite a shock. I tipped that as I know restaurants don't usually pay their employees well enough to live, and with her attitude I figured she might need extra money as others may not tip someone with such a poor attitude. Basically a mercy tip because I wanted to give a piece of my mind to the manager at that moment, however didn't to save the time with my wife, so I mostly bit my tounge, can't stop the keyboard though.. probably won't be back for a while. Oh, also the digging through other table creamer cups to produce an extra 4 half n half creamers (no where near enough for 1 cup let alone 2) for 2; 20 oz cups of coffee instead of going to the back to just grab some, is lazy, ineffective, and just plain rude. Also wondered if you acted as such due to some judgements you made towards the wife or I.. but something was definitely off. Also the menus (in pictures) were both covered in food and schmutz.. so hopefully I don't see a "rebuttal from management" and that they do their diligence to ensure cleaner facilities, friendlier staff, and the cooks strive for order accuracy. Definitely...
Read moreI ordered a grilled cheese with tomato soup. It was advertised as a special I believe, my father in law ordered the fish tacos.
Unfortunately the meal was very disappointing. We had never been to any of the kitchen table cafes and we were in the area for an appointment so we decided to try it. First we walked in and then someone came in after us, but we were seated 2nd. Not sure why the the party that came behind us got seated first as we had the same number of people in our group. We ordered our food and as soon as it came out I knew it was going to be disappointing just from looking at it. Granted, ordering fish tacos from a predominantly breakfast place should have been an indication of what to order BUT I should be able to get what I want from the menu a restaurant offers and expect some decent food. The grilled cheese was something a first time teen experimenting in the kitchen would make. It had absolutely no flavor other than burned parmesan cheese. This was on the outside of the bread but it was not done well AT ALL, and I don’t even know what kind of cheese was on the inside because it was so thin and the outside cheese was so overwhelming in “flavor”. Tomato soup was ok. I wouldn’t want it again but it was not bad, but also not that good. Fish tacos had sauce on it and all you could see was the sauce inside some tortillas. The fish looked like frozen battered fish and cut into strips. Very odd presentation. Flavor was edible, but would not return for it.
I don’t think I would return to try the breakfast because of how underwhelming our food was. Breakfast I feel would not change my perspective. Might be ok, but not worth $40+ for a meal outside the home. We had initially planned to go to a fast food place for breakfast to get back to our appointment but decided to give Kitchen Table a chance since a sit down option sounded nice and it was the closest place. In hindsight, fast food would have...
