I made an order in person. Walk-in I ordered beef nachos. I didn't check the order the first time. They gave me my order. I walked all the way home and it was a chicken burrito with beans. I called in and told them they made a mistake, I was willing to return the burrito back they said no need just keep it. My second return I came back to the restaurant. I did lift the cover for a moment to make sure it was nachos w/ beef. Upon returning home and starting to eat with my partner I noticed there was no beef. I called in to speak but the person who had been dealing with me. They rebutled back they said I said such and such I was the person whom was wrong. The guy who I was speaking to ended up hanging up in my face. Normally a person would start yelling. I didn't do such. I kept it calm and collected. I walked back to the restaurant with an extra dollar tip. I had previously tip them $4 extra dollars. The guy who I had been dealing with was sitting with some guest talking with them. I put the tip on the table the $1 tip and I apologized for being mis perseved. He accepted the tip and had a smirk on his face. He then said thank you we will see you again... I don't think I'll be returning back...

I showed up this afternoon around 3:00. We were a group of 7 ranging in age from 23 to 92 with disposable income to purchase pitchers of margaritas and several bottles of beer. We are staying in an Airbnb just around the corner from this establishment while in town to visit my daughter. My husband has looked forward for weeks to eating at this place. There was no seating inside so we went outside. We weren’t under the shade at first. Someone brought menus and some chips. We saw you walk by several times without offering to even take a drink order. When we moved under the shade when a large group left, you moved the other tables from the previous group and cleaned those tables. Still no water, drinks or inkling that you wanted to take care of us. So after 25 minutes, we left and went next door to the taco place where we spent a great deal of money on alcohol and food. To paraphrase Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman - you work on tips correct? Big mistake. I have to go order alcohol and food now. I still can’t believe how rude you were to my 92 year old father and 83...

I love food. When I am hungry I could eat an entire bread basket and be perfectly content. I can count on one hand the times I've ever left food on a plate at a restaurant.

So with this context let me say that this is the worst Mexican/Salvadorian food I have ever eaten. And I've eaten at Casa Bonita.

We got the Cuscatleco Vegetarian plate & the La Plaza Salad. And wow. The Tamale was dry and devoid of flavor. The fried yucca had the consistency of play-doh. The beans that came with the vegetarian plate had pork strands in it. The cheese pupusa was the only thing worth eating, but that's coming from someone who's called a handful of pre-shredded Kroger brand cheese a "quick snack."

As bad as the Vegetarian plate was, the salad was worse. I can only describe it as food even Aramark wouldn't serve.

The wealth of positive reviews makes me question my perception of reality. Maybe I had a one off experience, or maybe the population of Cap Hill is suffering from a specific form of long Covid where their taste buds have...

La Plaza is a vibe. They pack the tables inside and there's a popping sidewalk patio with more tables. It's decorated with bright colors and the staff are friendly. It's a fun spot to get queso and frozen margaritas. We popped in after Santa Rosa was too busy. The menu at La Plaza is large with tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and more. The prices are a bit steep for the quality of food. Everyone in my party thought their dishes were average from the ground beef enchiladas to the veggie fajitas to the nachos. Everything lacked flavor and was just okay. The mango frozen margarita was pricey, but I enjoyed it! I also appreciated the free chips and salsa.

We came excitedly to try some Salvadoran cuisine and arrived close to the end of lunch service, so the atmosphere was very quiet. The establishment is rather dark inside. Service was quick, and they offered a kid's high chair. For lunch, we had the crispy beef tacos and el cuscatleco. First of all, we loved the tacos. It is flavourful and very well-balanced. However, it was a mixed bag with the el cuscatleco - the pupusa was okay, and we didn't enjoy their tamale. On a positive note, we enjoyed the fried yuca and plantains. The ramp entrance is wheelchair and pram-friendly. There's also outdoor seating available.

Had a really great time here! With it being cold, the front foyer was nice in helping the restaurant to feel cozy. We sat in a half booth/ chair situation that was perfect! Ordered the El jefe regular margarita that was awesome. I ordered the veggie fajitas no peppers(not a fan) and it was phenomenal!! There were so many other vegetables that it’s now my fave go-to. My dining partner ordered the chimichanga. They enjoyed it, but wish it had queso on top. The chips and salsa were perfect for us hungry visitors. Can’t wait to come back!! Great Mexican/Salvadoran spot!!
