I was looking for consultation on back therapy to help with tension, aches, and posture. When I arrived, I was a little shocked at the upkeep and logistics of a doctors office. Someone was managing COVID test samples on a fold out table in the main lobby, and the font desk admin told me to hold without even glancing up to look at me. Also there's something about going to a doctors office where there are nicks on the walls and noticeably old / used furniture that does not give me a lot of confidence in their quality.
You tend to see lots of articles about chiropractors being big scammers and I was really hoping that wasn't true so that I could support this black owned business. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The front desk walked me back to a room and sat me in front of a computer screen to watch a generic video about chiropractic services. Then the PA came in, moved my arms and head around a couple times, asked me a long list of questions that I already answered on the preliminary paperwork and then laid me on a moving table for 15 minutes. Then the front desk admin came in, put on muscle stimulators (the ones you can buy off Amazon) for 10 minutes before the doctor came in to do the exact same thing. Needless to say no one walked me through what they were doing or why...
The doctor was talking so fast I could barely get a word in to let her know at this point I had already been laying there for 25+ minutes. She then did an "adjustment" when a gun tool and sent me on my way to pay $160 and come back for X-Rays so that she could then officially consult me... no thanks. I'm now in the midst of going back and forth with their billing "department" (AKA a random lady that works from home and never answers the phone) about miscellaneous charges I've received from their office.
The doctor called me several times to try and reconcile after hearing how disappointed I was with the services. At this point I just wanted to be left alone and have no intentions of going back. Not sure if it's due to being short staffed, but this place needs some major work, mostly around professionalism. I will not be recommending this office to anyone and hope this experience helps someone teetering with the idea of going as a new experience. Don't do it.
Giving 2 stars because the medical staff was friendly enough but overall VERY unhappy...
Read moreThis is a total scam and they are 100% incompetent. I went there Monday in excruciating pain. They told me they can't treat me until they analyze my x-ray. They told me to make sure they get the CD with my x-ray before my next appointment Wednesday. I explained that I will be in Pennsylvania, but I will cut it short to make my appointment. They charged me $295. I spent $204 on x-rays. I spent $40 overnighting the CD with my x-rays to make sure they would get it in time to analyze it. I tried to reach them Tuesday to see if they received my x-ray. I couldn't reach them during their business hours, so I left a voicemail. They called me back 3 hours later and said they noticed a missed call from my number. I asked if they got my voicemail and they said they have voicemail, but they don't have the capability to listen to the messages. I confirmed that they would be able to analyze my x-rays before my appointment. I went to extremes to make sure to made it to my appointment, including missing work, neglecting my other responsibilities and additional travel expenses. I arrived on Wednesday. I was told that I didn't need to send them the CD with the x-ray because they an see it online with username and password, which is I never authorized. I confirmed that they had analyzed my x-rays. I went to the treatment room. She put a metal thing on my back and I said I tried them before with a different chiropractor and they are useless. They said that next time they will use a different technique, but this time they will use this tool and next time they will explain my x-rays. I walked out. I called and asked for a refund. They said they don't offer refunds. BTW, they have an advertised special $29 for the first consultation and treatment, which they didn't offer me. They also kept saying I received a treatment when I didn't. Multiple lies and incorrect...
Read moreI love this place. Dr. Cohen is one of the best chiropractors I've ever been to, and I've been to A LOT! I love her holistic approach and the way she combines different therapies plus exercises. As a yoga and Pilates practitioner who is very focused on total-body health, I love her sciene-based methodology for alternative medicine. And as someone with scoliosis and a lifetime of chronic back issues, I love how great I feel, not just right after I Ieave the office, but also daily when I am gettting regular treatment. Her therapy complements my fitness routine perfectly. (Truth be told, she isually knows where and what I need better than I do!) The office staff is super friendly and I always feel welcome and important. Dr. Cohen's positive energy and attitude permeates the entire office for a culture of positivity and inclusion. If you are hesitant about chiropractors, go there because she has gifted hands. If you love chiropractors, go there. If you want to support a local business, a woman-owned (and staffed) practice, a black owned (and staffed) establishment, go there. Your back and body...
