I had the most disgusting experience today with my child I pulled up to this location on Franklin st and didn’t know if it was open because the open sign wasn’t on I told my son get out and pull the door . I went in to order my food with my son and as I’m talking to this sweet young lady she said her name is Sam, I’m telling sam how I wanted my pizza I didn’t want it to dark or burnt I want my fries cooked well done and the wings fried hard please,Sam said it’s no problem she will let them know in the back as I telling Sam about my wings and asked if a specific cook was in the back he makes my pizza for me and my kids prefect, she said no he’s not here today ,I said oh ok no problem and continue with placing my order for wings etc. ,this lady who was in the back comes and say no it’s no hard no hard wings it’s only 2 types ,soft or regular I said no I was telling this young lady I wanted them fried hard please, she then say it again no you either get well done or soft .I said I’m paying for my food and how I want them, what is the problem your not taking my order she is,I said I come here often and I know mostly everyone here this rude lady said you don’t know us I said no yall seem new she said exactly so you should except it us and treat us fair . So now I’m getting mad because now the lady is being very racist and saying racial slurs to me and my son, like we belong here ,and just rude and very offensive things .When I never said anything mean to this lady ,or nothing about racism I said your racist and will not order anything in this store and me and her was going back and forth I ask for manger she said i am the manger I said Sam can you go get the manger she said yes his name is James he came out and you can tell in the mist of the commotion everyone seemed scared of this lady like she’s a bully and bully the people who work there .James come out and he not really saying anything so I said if your the manger she needs to close her mouth she very rude and racist and disrespectful.he spoke in his language to this lady she calm down a little but not really because she’s still talking she saying I’m wrong tour right bye bye I then took a picture and told her I’m going to leave when I’m ready she grabbed the phone like she was calling the police I said I will gladly wait I did nothing to you so I will wait I apologize to the man in there eating he told the manger no sir she was very racist and rude this woman and her son (me) the manger couldn’t control this lady at all she was ruthless with her mouth and actions. I told her she need to give me a apology and to my kid she said no then told the manger she didn’t say I couldn’t get my food the way I wanted then I told her I recording you your lying .i walked out the store she followed me to the window and starting recording me and son getting into my car .James the manger came out and said wow I’m so so so sorry for this we all are one I can’t believe this he said I don’t like this because we are the same color and I don’t agree with her actions at all everyone can get there food how the want it yall paying for it I’m sorry and while we talking this lady standing in the window and recording James the manger talking to me on the phone.i have never had a experience like this at this location I don’t know if the other people sold this franchise but they was nice and welcoming this new faces are very rude and disrespectful well that one lady I will make sure to put her...
Read moreAs a long-time resident of the DC area, I can say with certainty that Ledo Pizza on 12th St NE is one of the best pizza joints in the city. This local institution has been serving up delectable, award-winning pies for decades, and it's easy to see why it has maintained such a loyal following.
The first thing that sets Ledo Pizza apart is the crust. Rather than the typical thin, crispy base, Ledo opts for a thicker, almost rectangular-shaped crust that is both sturdy and remarkably light and airy. It has just the right balance of chewiness and crispness, providing the perfect foundation for the generous toppings.
Speaking of toppings, Ledo takes great pride in using only the freshest, high-quality ingredients. The tomato sauce is zesty and flavorful, the mozzarella cheese is creamy and melty, and the selection of classic and specialty toppings (think pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, and more) are all perfectly cooked and balanced.
But what truly makes Ledo Pizza stand out is the level of care and attention that goes into every single pie. The staff is clearly passionate about their craft, taking the time to ensure each order is prepared with precision and pride. The result is a pizza that is not only visually appealing but also bursting with flavor in every bite.
Beyond the incredible food, the atmosphere at the 12th St location is equally inviting. The cozy, casual dining room offers a welcoming vibe, whether you're grabbing a quick slice for lunch or settling in for a leisurely dinner with friends and family. The service is also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who are always happy to offer recommendations or accommodate special requests.
In a city with no shortage of pizza options, Ledo on 12th St NE stands head and shoulders above the rest. If you're in the mood for a truly exceptional pizza experience, this is the place to be. I can't recommend it...
Read moreI was really excited for this place to open but really disappointed with my experience. I called ahead and ordered 3 pizzas for Super Bowl Sunday at around 1pm for pizzas to be ready at 6… confirmed twice that they would be ready at 6. I received a call about an hour later that my pizzas were ready. Obviously that was a mistake number 1. I responded that they weren’t supposed to be ready until 6 and it was like it was the first time they had ever heard such a thing. In any case, I confirmed again that new pizzas would be ready at 6. Fast forward to 6 pm when I went to pick up my pizzas. I walked in to 20+ angry customers who were all being mostly ignored by the staff. It was complete pandemonium. No one was getting their order. There was food stacked up at the counter but none of it was for anyone waiting. Most of the staff (including the managers) were hiding in the back and wouldn’t talk to any customers. They abandoned a couple of junior cashiers in the front to face all the angry customers. They had absolutely no record of my order. About 25 mins after I arrived I walked out with a single cold pizza (after ordering 3) just glad to distance myself from that mess. This place is a disaster. Avoid at all costs unless you can sit there and supervise...
