Customer service has gone down the hill and leaves a lot to be desired. I have been a customer since Mechos opened up and of their original Los Hermanos restaurant before that. But my past few visits the service have not been great and for this most recent visit, knowing the restaurant doesn’t always have all the items in the menu available at the window and it can take a good 20-30 mins to prepare them, I called and ordered two portions of fried chicken 25 mins ahead of arriving. When I got there I added a bandera and then found out the chicken I pre-ordered had not been prepared. Instead of letting me know they said it would come right away, instead I waited 20 mins and then only one of the two orders came out. To top it off the girl at the counter kept pretending I had only paid for one order but when she checked my receipt and realized I did pay for two orders, she said I would have to wait another 20 mins for the second order. The girl didn’t even apologize for their error or for trying to blame me supposedly only paying for one out of the two orders, which was really upsetting. Since I did not have the luxury of waiting another 20 mins for the second order I asked to have my money for the second order to be refunded, which they did
so long story short I came home with half my order and the other half very cold since the rest of the food had been sitting at their counter all this time while they prepared the one out of two orders of fried chicken that were supposed to be ready by the time I arrived almost an hour before. Will have to think twice about coming back...

This was my family's 1st time trying Mecho's Dominican Kitchen. I like the statue at the entrance and the artwork on the walls. It's a bright and welcoming place.

It took us a while to decide what we wanted because the servers didn't offer any suggestions, any references to the most popular items, or anything. They stood there having a conversation in español. We.moved aside to allow other customers to go because they knew what they wanted. We stood looking at the menu for a total of 10 minutes before deciding to order the "Build Your Own."

I ordered chicken with rice and beans, and cabbage / mixed vegetables. My family followed suit ordering the same thing I got and they added 1 slice of tres leches cake and 1 slice of Dominican Cake. The food was alright. The rice and beans tasted closely like Jamaican / Caribbean Rice and Peas. The vegetables could use more seasoning. They were bland. I had to season it at home.

Although the slices of cakes belonged to my husband and daughter, I took a taste to be able to write this review. The tres leches cake was magnificent! This cake by far has beat out all the others I've tried over the years that have disappointed me repeatedly. I had given up on finding a good tres leches cake. My husband ate half and gave me the other half.

The Dominican cake was dry. I mean super DRY. That single piece had me almost choking. I don't recommend it.

So Mechos was kinda good years ago but their food now is just bland now. Don’t let the looks fool you it’s not authentic Dominican food. Im Latino and this place is just wack to sum it up. I ordered Shrimp Mofongo, Pollo Guisado and Empanadas with a side of rice. The servers, even when communicating in Spanish were mentally not present, seemed like they could careless and failed to communicate the mofongo order to the cook after telling me to wait a few minutes while it was prepared. I already wrote them off because their food is literally lacking the flavor to even call it Dominican food but this really drove me to write this review. The lady at the counter just stood there for over 10 minutes staring at me occasionally and when I said something because I knew something was wrong she told the cook about my order and I had to wait an additional 10 minutes. They offered me a drink while laughing between themselves but if you are going to have an attitude on top of lackluster food then I’m going to give the people an honest review. Don’t let the nice appearance of the establishment fool you
they are not worth the money or frustration with those women who could just change their attitudes and actually establish loyal patrons. It’s cool though
tbh you are better off watching youtube videos and making it yourself because their food is not up to par. Should be ashamed to even call it Dominican...
