Pros: Metrobar is such a cute establishment, the atmosphere was great. The actual metro car is such a great vibe. And also the fact that they support local spirits and beers is a plus. The drinks taste good, and the wait for a drink was egregious. They have indoor and outdoor seating and since the this was January, the heat lamps and fire pits were perfect.
I didn’t review the food because I ordered from the food hall across the street, they have QR Codes to order and then you go pick up the food. They also have a food truck on site each day.
Cons: I was the guest at a birthday party, and from the beginning the host was disappointed in the service being provided by management because it was honestly terrible. Unable to setup on time, asked to simply wait for the space to open up, we patiently waited in a different area. Once we walked over to the area for the party the problems persisted, with no solutions being offered by management. It was disheartening to see that such a joyous occasion was seemingly handled with no regard to the customer in the presence of family and friends all whom were also paying customers for the establishment. The overall feeling of the service left a bad imprint in the mind of most sitting by and watching the exchanges between staff and host.
Overall when I saw the location I immediately wanted to plan a party there of my own however after witnessing the service I would not return to patron this establishment at all the service...
Read moreThis place is super cool. We went here for my friends birthday party celebration. We sat in the larger section in the back, which was so worth it. I paid 70 bucks, I believe, to reserve it. We sat in the metro train, which was cool. It's an old train, so we had some nostalgic conversations about that. Everyone was chill and even vibing with the tables around them. Ok, now to the only negative part of this experience... the food tent. We got in line for food around 7:30 and didn't get our food until almost 8:30. They were cooking chicken from a raw state, which is ok, but you need a deep fryer to cook it quicker. They were pan frying it, then placing it in an air fryer. It took so long. They were serving their friends over the ppl that were there first. There was no menu posted to show what they have, so you may have to wait until you get up front to know if you want to eat there. Once we got the food, it wasn't bad. There is a food hall nearby that you can order from, but you have to walk over to pick it up. I will be going back because I really liked it here!!! I recommend it 10/10 for the experience. But I will eat first! Or try...
Read moreI've been wanting to see metrobar for a few years since it's obvs where all the super cool Metro fans should hang. I didn't realize what a great outdoor space it is, or that it's won some awards for how great it is, so I'm glad to know those things now! I got there around 7 on a more wintery than springy February Saturday; people (and their DC dogs, of course ❤️) were starting to come in. When you arrive, it's like you're walking into an outdoor beer garden/picnic area; there are picnic tables, enclosed heated seating areas, and fire pits surrounded by seating. An outdoor bar is at the back of the picnic table area. Nice music on the speakers, the ambiance is really cozy! And then, you see it: the Metro car bar! It's berry cute. It's like a Metro car-turned bar diner, complete with octagon tiles on the floor! The Silver Line drink is soooo delicious, fizzy and refreshing. They had a food vendor there selling tacos, I think. Bar service was just.. not super excited to be there? Not to be down on them too much, but I felt kind of underwhelmed by the bartenders' energy. But it's a really cool spot and us Metro fans are...
