After spending my hard earned money in the restaurant regularly during the winter time, I had the worst experience last week with Lina (Manager/Owner). I will NEVER step foot in this establishment again.
I left my debit card at home, but I keep a picture of it on my phone. When I arrived, I explained this to one of the waitresses and recognizing me as a regular customer, she was totally fine with it. I waited for my food for about 10-15 min. Another waitress brought my food when it was ready, and asked Lina how to manually input the credit card info. Lina immediately dismissed me saying she can’t take the card and could not serve me. She was walking and looking away when I tried to talk to her and barely even acknowledged my presence. I’ve seen her treat people like this before, but never thought I would be one of them, particularly since I was such a frequent patron. Lina then went on a long rant saying that she couldn’t manually input the card because “you people” might dispute the charge (insinuating that I would do that). Question: Who is “you people”? 🤔 She then asked the waitresses if they told me that they would manually input the card info. The staff, of course, lied and said they didn’t tell me they would manually input the info. But I can’t even blame them, they wanted to keep their jobs. She runs the restaurant like a plantation, so the employees are horrified of her. At any rate, had I known she wouldn’t accept the card manually, I could’ve simply went home and got my card while they were preparing my food. I live 5 minutes away.
Long story short, what hurt me the most is that (1) my months of patronage was not appreciated or acknowledged and (2) I guarantee that Lina would not have treated any white woman the way she treated me. I feel humiliated, embarrassed, belittled, and all of the various words you can think of. I will never stop foot in this establishment again. Lina is a mean person, and she will reap everything she sows.
I will also be reporting this place to the BBB, DC Consumer Affairs, and any other entity that I can find.
BTW - After discussing this with friends who live in the area, I learned that they have a mice, which is even more reason for me to never step foot in this...
Read moreDisappointed that after years of coming here I had a bad experience. I don't eat meat, so I typically have either the veggie or seafood options. Today I wanted something different. I ordered summer rolls and a side of noodles. I already had broth so I didn't need to order an entire bowl. The lady repeated my order but all I retained was the first part of my order. I didn't really hear her well when she said the second part. So I just said yes... I picked up my food and when I got to my office I noticed it was Summer Rolls AND Egg Rolls... I told myself okay fine... I didn't want to go back I figured I eat them both. BUT I tried one, and quickly realized it was a meat egg roll. I called back to let them know the order was incorrect. They said no problem and I went back to pick up my noodles. NOW, why did I get confronted as if it was a huge issue that a piece of the egg roll was missing? I told her that if it was a veggie egg roll that would have been fine, but it wasn't. She then said I repeated the order to you on the phone and you said that's correct. As I mentioned, that might have been my fault for not hearing her when she confirmed my order, but she also didn't hear me correctly when I stated my order. I take the fault of confirming even though I didn't hear her well. BUT what I don't tolerate is the fact that she made a huge scene and deal about me trying the egg roll before returning it. Again had it been veggie I would have never came back and went about my day which is why I even took a bite. Sad to say, I don't feel comfortable coming here anymore. She should have just apologized and not became hostile. I would have apologized for my own fault. Mistakes happen but reputational damage is worse. Over $5.95, I seriously did not need to be treated that way. Oh and to make matters worse, the owner stood there and said nothing. Just...
Read more0 out of 5 stars if I could rate that low. I’ve come here recently with my group of friends and have recently been served by a very rude lady. She looks like a man and very heavily wears makeup. She is rude and rushes us to order. We ordered 3 soups, an extra noodle and one drink. The food took about 30 minutes and people who came before us were served way before we did, even with bigger parties. Once the food comes, there’s little to no meat on the soup, it’s cold, and it’s very very watery. We suck up to it because were long time customers of this business. Before were done eating the lady keeps walking by us with the check just wanting us to leave. We finally get up to pay and she basically runs up to us. She tells us our total is 57 dollars which is super absurd. 3 soups for 13 dollars each is only 39 dollars plus the extra noodle, 4 dollars, and the one soda, which is 2 dollars. Our total should’ve been 45 dollars plus maybe 3 dollars in tax? 47 we were upsold by 10 dollars which probably went towards her very undeserving tip. This place has really fallen off with its new employees. The young man who works there would’ve treated us with the respect we deserve, but we haven’t seen him there in a while. This place used to be very nice to dine at but very disappointing on what it’s become. Very embarrassing for the...
