While portions are not large, the food is comforting, the setting welcoming, and the service friendly and courteous. Background music was at the perfect level - not too loud, not too quiet. The design and decoration in the restaurant was welcoming - it did feel very much like a family restaurant. All the dark-stained wood and decoration including local historical photos really added to the relaxing Irish pub ambiance. The salt and pepper shakers were a fun, light-hearted touch. Classic Irish beer served with a surprise design in the foam was an unexpected delight. The shepherd’s pie was quite tasty, and the mix of lamb and vegetables was just right. For a mix of sweet and savory, the rich, deep flavor of the bacon on the monte cristo put it over the top; unfortunately the halves were served stacked, and so hot and soft there was not a way to eat them by hand. The plates used are smaller, with little extra space on them. The powdered sugar was a nice touch, but made it a bit messier. Clam chowder was thick and rich, the perfect balance between clam and potatoes and sauce. Their creme brûlée desserts are just right, with crystallized sugar on top and a rich custard beneath. Relaxing ambiance, abundant comfort food, and friendly service - this is a great restaurant to go to after a long day or week at work.

i’m giving this two stars and one reason is because the environment is very welcoming and the other is because their cream Brulé is really good except one time I got it and the top was too burnt but the custard part was good. I’ve only ate here a couple times, the first time I got the salmon it was awful the second time I got the fish and chips. I didn’t care for that either and the third time I had breakfast and I ordered the biscuits and gravy. I didn’t really care for the biscuits because they seemed very dry, but the gravy was really good and the potatoes were good and the lady went out of her way to make a mai tai what she didn’t know how to make and it ended up being pretty good. overall, I find it to be a very friendly locals restaurant but I wouldn’t recommend it to those of you who don’t like corn beef hash because a lot of their food has that in it. UPDATE i absolutely love the gravy on the soda farls and gravy BUT sometimes when I order this dish, the biscuits are really good and sometimes they’re extremely dry. today the biscuits are extremely dry and hard and I asked the waitress how old the biscuits were and she told me that they were made the night before which means I’m guessing that they refrigerate them overnight which I don’t think they always do but in this batch they did that and the biscuits are not good today. when I asked the waitress about it, she seemed irritated that I said anything about it.i added a photo of the fry biscuits aug 3 2023 at 10:50 am

Took the family to Shawn O'Donnell's restaurant an American Grill & Irish Pub. Greeted at the door and promptly seated. I asked to be seated in a specific area and they accommodated me with no issues. The wait staff were knowledgeable and patient. Our waitress 's name was Andi. We had never eaten here but we knew we were here for the Mac and Cheese. It is called Irish Whiskey Mac & Cheese. I ordered the Mac & Cheese and shared it with my daughter and the wife ordered Tater Tots. She was not a fan of the limited menu. 0ur order came with soda bread and honey butter. The soda bread was warm like it just came from a wood fired stove somewhere in Ireland. The honey butter complimented the soda bread and was very good. The Mac & Cheese was exceptionally good. Full of flavor with a crispy layer of cheese accented with parsley. The corned beef that was in it was tender and bursting with flavor. Hands down I would recommend this to anyone who likes Mac & Cheese. You can order it with or without the red onion. I also ordered a 4 piece fish and chips. The fish was good and crispy and the fries were hot and crispy on the outside and soft inside. When it was all said and done the bill was pretty tall, but worth it. Before I left I took some photos of the restaurant. The atmosphere was really comfortable. They played Irish Pub music over the speakers. They also had some very interesting memorabilia on the walls.

My husband ordered a chicken wrap through Uber Eats. He took a bite and looked down to see the chicken was completely raw. I filed a complaint with Uber, but contacted the restaurant as this is a food safety concern. I was immediately put on hold. I was then told they were busy and someone would try to call me back later tonight. I reiterated that my calling was due to a safety concern and the hope that they would communicate this to staff to prevent this from happening again tonight. We did receive a callback and basically got a “huh, they are supposed to do a temp check. I’ll talk to the cook. File a complaint with Uber” response. Even if they failed to do a temp check, how do you miss that the chicken you cut up is VISUALLY raw? Raw chicken is a major concern for infection from organisms such as Campylobacter (a possible cause of arthritis and Guillain Barre Syndrome), so this is a significant food safety issue. We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but have never been served such undercooked chicken at any restaurant before. The center was still cold. We will no longer be ordering from this location in the future and will be following up with a department of health complaint. Fingers crossed my husband doesn’t end up sick from this.

Shawn O'Donnell's on 128th in So. Everett Dinner out. We wanted to get our 'Irish' on before St. Patrick's Day. No reservations required, showed up just after 6pm on a Sat and we're seated right away. Place is clean, the noise level decent for just after happy hour, folks were separated well and everyone was masked when not at their table. The staff was very friendly (and always masked). QR code menu viewing. We ordered, and service was prompt and food was the right temperature. Black and Blue salad for me, Corned Beef and cabbage for her. A little soda bread appetizer. Part way through, we added the 'snacking bacon'. That made a nice dessert. My salad; steak was medium as I ordered, the balsamic vinaigrette smelled good but wasn't overpowering in flavor (thankfully). Steak was tender and flavorful. Asked for, and received a pepper mill to use for fresh ground. Nice. Her Corned Beef was tender, nice flavor. Cabbage picked up nice hints from the meat. The horseradish sauce had a good heat (not super strong). Snacking bacon was good, light smoke, not too sweet. A good well balanced meal of flavors in a nice setting. They are of course decked out for the St. Pats holiday. Priced right too. 2 Forks Up

I stopped by Shawn O’Donnell’s for a quick bite before my dental appointment after spending some time at the beach, and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, Jennifer greeted me with a warm welcome and seated me right away. She was incredibly thoughtful, making sure my food came out quickly so I wouldn’t be late for my appointment. I ordered their famous fish & chips with homemade tartar sauce, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! Jennifer assured me I had made the perfect choice, and she was right. The fish was crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the delicious housemate tartar sauce. Despite being busy, Jennifer took a moment to chat with me, sharing a bit about her day and how long she had worked there. Her kindness and attentiveness made my visit even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated for St. Patrick’s Day—I was truly in awe of the festive atmosphere! Overall, my experience at Shawn O’Donnell’s was fantastic. The great food, friendly service, and welcoming ambiance make this a spot I’ll definitely be returning to. Huge thanks to Jennifer for making my visit so memorable!
