I've only ordered from here two times and so far, so good. The first time, I dined in with a friend. The setting/ambience here is nice. It's spaciuos, clean, modern looking, and well lit due to the fact that nearly the whole place is full of windows. Both times I've went, the staff has been very friendly. Our server was a nice guy and very informative. Although, it took a while for our food and beverage to come out. I'm not sure if that was on the server or the kichen but we were one of the only people in there so I think it's safe to assume it wasn't the kitchen. We were in no rush though so we didn't make a big deal out of it.
Now, onto the food. I ordered the Hashbrown bowl and it was exceptional. Although, if you don't get bacon in your bite, it's a tad bland. Since then, I've asked for extra jalapenos to add more flavor. As far as portion size. It's a little on the light side but it will still fill you up. Plus it's only just over 10$. I'd say the texture is what makes it. Yeah, it may be greasy but hey, what do you expect with the name Hashbrown bowl. Overall I'd give it a 7-10.
The Siracha Wings are Ok. One order comes with 10 for 13$ which is a pretty standard price for that area. They are a nice size and they have a pretty crunchy texture. As long as your not overly hungry when you go there, they should be enough to fill you up. Flavor wise, I'd give em a 6-10. They either need to put more sauce on them or enhance the flavor of the sauce that they put on them. I ordered them to go which may explain why they didn't have that much flavor. If I order them again, I'd eat them there and ask that there be more sauce put on them. They're a mixture of sweet and spicy. They might have been a little bland but with some tweaking they could be great. There is definitely potential there.
Overall I give this place 4-5 stars. Solid place to go to for breakfast or brunch.

Read moreBeen here quite a few times now, and it's definitely a favorite brunch spot of mine, but it's not without a few flaws. That said, I've only come on Saturday and Sunday mornings, so take my experiences with that in mind.
The food is top notch: the steak and eggs are particularly delicious, my requests for medium and over easy both come out exactly where I like it to be every time. Another favorite of mine, the sausage gravy biscuits, are about as good as you can get in the District. For someone looking for a bit of everything on offer, the fried chicken & biscuits give a lovely tour of the Coupe's culinary gamut. All of which at prices that are eminently reasonable for a DC brunch spot with the serving sizes you get plated.
Waitstaff are polite and great at handling a busy weekend rush; even in a packed house they do a good job of checking in regularly on tables.
Now the negatives: it's busy, and loud. Get a reservation on the weekends, or else be prepared to wait 15-30 minutes depending on your group size. There's actually a decent amount of seating for people coming solo, but even just a group of two can expect a bit of a wait in a relatively small lobby.
The noise is admittedly something that I'm a bit more sensitive to, I have a hard time hearing people when there's a decent amount of background noise. But between the acoustics of the restaurant and the amount of people dining on the weekends, be prepared to enunciate to hold a conversation with someone across the table. If you're looking for a more low-key brunch that doesn't feel like you're in a school cafeteria, you might want to look elsewhere. I only bring this up at all because it is very noticeable.
All of that said, the negatives truly do not outweigh the overall dining experience, and it's a permanent spot in my regular weekend breakfast rotation. Give it a try! (But...
Read moreThe food here is pretty good. The atmosphere is cool. I eat her a lot both dine in and take out since it’s close to my house.
The key thing you need to know is you have to be extremely vigilant because (and I really hate to say this cause I’ve worked in restaurants for years) the staff there just aren’t good and don’t care. There’s organizational issues too but the service you’ll get is terrible.
With take out, you really really need to inspect your food. They will forgot everything. I’ve checked to make sure the salad and separate chicken was in my bag, got home only to see they didn’t put any dressing. Happened a bunch. One time they forgot a side of hash browns, I called them, explained what happened, asked them to put an order in since I was walking back. They said only manager could approve that and they were busy so to call back. I complained and said can’t you just put the order in now and I can talk to manager when I got there. They said. I had to call back in 15 minutes to get manager to approve them making the rest of my food before I could start walking there.
This part has been better in recent months but I want to flag: they don’t seem to have a set procedure of how to get food from the kitchen to take out area. I’ve sat there waiting for soooo long asking the people up front to check cause it had been 45 minutes since I ordered. They keep saying no they kitchen staff being it is up when it is ready. I finally convince them to check and everything is cold.
In terms of eating there, just be ready to order when a server gets to your table, leave a ton of time to get your food, and understand they will often give you the wrong food and it takes a while to get them to make new food. So it’s basically fine as long as you are not in any sort of rush or very hungry. The atmosphere is...
