Donut King LLC — Restaurant in Wasilla

Local donut shop that is excellent!!! Please don't waste your money at a national chain store!!! That national chain doesn't make anything fresh folks (they come frozen and reheated) and so DONUT KING IS WAY BETTER. I've visited Donut King 2x now and have thoroughly enjoyed the apple fritter and local coffee from Kaladi Brothers Coffee. I just can't seem to deviate from a traditional fritter so have to rely on others testimony about the Bavarian Creme and some "big as your head" chocolate covered donut. THEY LOVED THEIR DONUTS AND COFFEE TOO!!! In preparation for this review I took a look at their FaceCrook presence and saw they have a drive through. I haven't personally used it. But what else I saw was a dedication to their community. Folks, those big chains may employee some people in the area and that's all nice and dandy but local businesses need a community of supporters to just make it and be able to support their own local hires. They share with us more than a need to get you in and out the door. Donut King allows you a space to be creatives by playing the piano, provide your daily caffeine and doughy delicious sugar fixes, and inspire others to give back (that last one you'll have to see on FaceCrook). My boyfriend and I love their donuts, and he went for the first time last Saturday to pick some up. The man at the front counter was extremely rude and had terrible customer service. We thought maybe he was just having a bad day and gave him the benefit of the doubt. He tried again today to see if the service would be any better, and unfortunately he was met with the same guy from last weekend and with no better of an attitude. It made it to where he felt like he was inconveniencing him and didn’t wanna ask for more donuts when he went in originally to get more. He told me it seems like he hates his job, and believe me I’ve worked in customer service and he has too so we understand it’s not the greatest of jobs but you have to fake it and make it. I went in this morning to grab a box of donuts and there were three employees there. One (a guy) was working the drive through window and the other two (women) were in front of the espresso machine. It sounded like they were having a business conversation but overall didn't seem like they were completing any drink orders from the window. They did acknowledge me and said they would be right with me as they continued their conversation. Eventually the young man came from the drive through window and took my order as the women continued their conversation. He was ringing up my order as one the women finally went to the drive through window and started taking their orders. Donuts are amazing as usual but the service could use some work.
