Located just down the road from Bearpaw River, Last Frontier Brewing Company is a true locals’ watering hole in Wasilla. This family-run brewpub embodies the Alaskan spirit, serving up hearty food, friendly service, and a solid lineup of craft beers that keep both residents and visitors coming back. Our favorite beer here was Goldmint, an unfiltered hefeweizen that’s bursting with banana and clove notes. It’s a classic take on the style and pairs perfectly with the hearty entrees on the menu. If you’re dining in, we highly recommend ordering one of their steak dishes with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. It’s comfort food done right, and even better when accompanied by a flight of their house brews. The atmosphere at Last Frontier is warm and welcoming, with a large bar and plenty of friendly locals and bartenders happy to strike up a conversation. Whether you’re stopping by for a pint, a meal, or both, this brewpub offers a laid-back vibe. For those traveling through Wasilla, Last Frontier Brewing Company is a must-visit destination for great beer, delicious food, and a taste of true local flavor.

First few times we ordered a pizza here it was great. So we went into the restaurant for dinner a few times and it didn't really impress me that much. The prime rib really wasn't that great. The halibut was overcooked and dry. So we went back to ordering pizzas because that's what we had liked. Unfortunately that seems to have come down in quality as well. The last time it was a pizza that we got at lunch time and I thought well maybe it was a different person that made it it was soggy had way too much sauce generally just not that good. This time I just ordered a pizza at 5:20 they said it would be done by 5:45 I showed up at 5:43 and kept getting excuses didn't get the pizza until after 6:00. I got home and it looks like it was thrown together by a 6-year-old. There are sections that have no toppings there's sections that have mostly just cheese The center looks like a giant mess and the crust is soft and rubbery like it was not fully cooked. I don't know what happened but I think this will be the last pizza I buy for a while.

Let me preface this review by saying that our server Bree (Bri?) was nice and punctual. Everything else about the experience was absolutely bottom rung.

I ordered the halibut and fries, which comes with a side of coleslaw. My partner ordered the bacon cheeseburger and fries, my 4 year old got the chicken fingers and fries meal, and my teenager ordered the small Caesar salad.

When our food arrived, I noticed the halibut had a strange kind of very heavy flaky coating on it and was very dark. I'm a lifelong Alaskan and have fished, filleted, and deep fried halibut more times than I can count- my fish was hammered. On top of that, it was barely hot. None of our fries were hot either, and greasy. The coleslaw featured in the photo on their menu looks good, but the coleslaw I was served was literally a bowl of mayo soup with finely chopped pieces of cabbage in it. It was some time before we saw our server again, but I when we did see her I signaled her to come over. My exact words were, "I really don't want to be this person, cause problems, but my fish is-" Before I could even get the words out she finished my sentence with, "Dry, overcooked?" Even the server could see it. I said, "Yes, hammered." I then pointed out the coleslaw and she was like oh my goodness, wow. Then I said unfortunately we are in a hurry, so if we could just have it taken off the bill and she said absolutely, and took it back to the kitchen. I decided to just let the fries on all our plates go, and my daughter's chicken fingers (which she wouldn't even eat because they were also so greasy and overfried). We just wanted to wrap up and get out of there. To be fair, my partner's cheeseburger was pretty good.

A few minutes later she came back out and said, "My manager broke open a piece of the fish and said it wasn't overcooked but done correctly, so she will give you a discount but not remove the charge entirely." The discount was $7- for an entire dish I could not eat. I asked to speak with the manager and she wouldn't even come to the table to talk to me. I wasn't offered my food back (even if it is hammered, if I'm paying for it still, then I am going to take it home), I wasn't offered a refire in place. Just to pay for a meal that they threw away without taking it off the bill- as was said to me in the first place was going to happen. ONLY if they are not going to remove it would I want food in its place- ESPECIALLY if I am still having to pay for it. So I paid $22 for food that I didn't even have??? I didn't want to cause a scene, so we just paid and left, but on the way home I decided to call and ask to speak directly with the manager. She came on the phone and I introduced myself and let her know that I was the patron that sent the halibut back. I explained my situation and she interrupted me and said, "I broke it open and it was still pearly and you don't know what you're talking about." I let her know that it definitely was and even the server said so. Then I told her I was told it would be removed from the bill, but then when it wasn't I wasn't even offered my food back or a refire, and she said, "in our restaurant if you send it back, the moment it comes back into the kitchen it gets dumped in the trash." I was appalled. I told her that if it wasn't going to be removed as said to me, then I should have been offered my meal back or a replacement, and she said, "So you don't want it, now you do, you're going back and forth and flip flopping." WHAT?! Am I taking crazy pills? I let her know because it wasn't removed on the bill, and I didn't get any food in its place, I would be contesting the charge since I was charged for a product I did not receive and she said, "You're not going to get your money back but you can go ahead and try," and then hung up on me.

I didn't get photos because the food was taken so early and I didn't expect to have to take pictures in the first place.

From the management to the food, this place should be called, "Last Resort Brewing Company."...

DISRESPECTFUL PLACE!!!! Came in on 7/28 to pick up a mobile order. The place is busy, music is blasting. A waiter (male) passed me, stopped in the middle of the restaurant making a table of 8 customers between us. Seriously? Are we on a porch smoking dope or are on the clock doing your job? He turned to me and asked what was the name on the order, I told him, he didn’t hear it. I’m sure 8 customers were not happy to hear 2 guys talking over their table? SSOOOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL! I said “I WONT YELL ACROSS THE WHOLE RESTAURANT” and started walking towards him to show the name on my phone. When I approached him, he said “I WONT EVEN LOOK AT IT” and walked away, he turned around a few times and laughed at me, went to the kitchen, told other employees, they all looked at me and laughed. They refused to give me PAID ORDER!!!! I had to call the company for assistance. Now the funny part. A manager (female) were also rude to the representative and hanged up on him, came out with food, approached me and said “ GOOD BYE” WITHOUT TRYING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED! WHAT A BIAST, ONE SIDED PERSON SHE IS?! WOW!!!! Didn’t want to hear me out, now you can read this! What a trash place!!! What did I do wrong? Didn’t scream the name on the order? Since when it is WRONG to not want to disturb other people’s meal??? BEYOND DISRESPECT! They forget that money they make from online orders pay for their phone, electricity, gas, etc! the male waiter is thinking too much of himself! Man, chill out, we all work for the same goal! Again, small people have the biggest ego! Well! Working at a low rated restaurant in Wasilla AK tells a lot about the waiter and the manager, this place is the highest job they ever get in their lives!!! Nobody will disrespect me for doing my job and being professional. TRASH PLACE!!!! Please, Please, Please! Think before going to this place or ordering online from them! If they don’t like something about you, God for bid, they will spit in your food or worth, they dump it on your head! Avoid this place at...

Husband and I went for dinner at about 6:15 on a Wednesday evening. It wasn't very busy and we were able to be seated outside on the patio right away.

I think it was about 15 minutes from when we were seated until we finally made up our minds and placed our order. I ordered McKinley Mushrooms ($13), a side dinner salad ($8) and an iced tea ($3?). My husband ordered the halibut basket with onion rings ($30) and an iced tea also. Not a highly complicated order, but it took 45 minutes for us to get our food. We finished our main meals a little after 7:35, and then we decided to take a chance and order two of the molten lava cakes ($20) for dessert. At 8:00 we still did not have our dessert. My husband went up to cancel the dessert orders just as the waitress was coming out with them, HE felt bad, so he just got them to go and got the bill. I realize this doesn't fall entirely on the waitstaff, but being front of the house, they need to communicate to the customer better if there is a problem, and if it's going to be a long wait for the meal. Give the customer the choice to be seated and expect a long wait, or go elsewhere you know?

Our total bill came up to $83 (incl. tax), which I wasn't fully expecting. (There was an option on the menu for the double order of mushrooms ($18), and since I didn't say I wanted a double order, and the waitress didn't ask, I mistakenly thought she would give me the regular order).

I would say if you are not really in a hurry, are not bothered possibly being up-charged unknowingly, and not bothered by paying high prices for simple items, then this is the place for you. I'm not saying the food is bad, I just don't feel it is worth what they charge for it. We probably won't be going back.

We finally...
