Big Dipper Ice Cream is a hidden gem located on the second floor of a small shopping mall with plenty of easy parking. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Noah, an enthusiastic and friendly employee who gave us a mini tour of their unique, homemade flavors.

We sampled quite a few — Matcha Mochi Magic, Fireweed & Honey, Alaska Wild Berry, Bearly Awake, Razzle Dazzle, Hi Ho Cherry O, Chocolate, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Blast — and every single one stood out. The flavors were rich but not overly sweet, with just the right balance of creaminess and flavor. The waffle cones were another highlight — freshly made, buttery, and crisp.

Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality and freshness of the ice cream. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is a must-stop in Wasilla, Alaska....

Big Dipper in Wasilla is hands down one of my favorite spots! Their pistachio ice cream is the best—creamy, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. I might be a bit old school, but they truly make the best milkshakes around.
