Taqueria Chacko — Restaurant in Watauga

Ok as someone who grew up in the Mexican states of Tamaulipas and Hidalgo, with authentic Mexican tacos, I can 100% recommend this taco stand! The food was absolutely amazing! We got the Chako Tacos of “al pastor” and “asada”. The al pastor meat is cooked authentically on the “trompo” roasting stand. The tortillas had toasted Oaxacan cheese on them and tons of meat. The tacos came with sliced radish, sliced cucumber, chopped onion & cilantro, as well as grilled onions! The price was extremely affordable for such large tacos and all the sides. The salsa verde was delicious and definitely had a kick. They also had a smoky, creamy, red salsa which added a delicious flavor. I will for sure be returning to try everything in their menu! I went here for the first time Wednesday. I’ve passed it several times on my way to and from Prolific Butcher shop. A good friend said these were great tacos. I walked up and I told the person it was my first time. She didn’t seem to have good customer service as she didn’t try to sell me anything or help me. It was clear I was just staring at the menu in an anxiety attack, a first timer, her staring at me. I asked her for a recommendation. Tacos it is. I didn’t even bother to ask her for a meat recommendation. I told her I liked everything so for her to surprise me. Absolutely the best I have had in 20 years. We don’t care how much money we spend we order enough to last 3 days. Girls you can fall in love with the Guys who work here because I am always treated like royalty. Sorry George, who is the owner of Tex Star down the street. It is amazing too but these guys are 4 blocks closer to home. Also, you can get beer and gas in the Valero while you wait for your order. You don’t understand the menu?
