Update: Since the owner's are trying to blame me on their cute little response I'm going to go ahead and plead my case. I buy meat in bulk typically about once a month and when I get home immediately put it in my freezer in their packaging. I thawed a rack of PORK ribs out this morning and when I opened them they smelled like rotten eggs. This was just the deadly final straw as the quality has gone down consistently anyway. I try to support local business but buying local typically means getting better quality and better service. Rotten meat and shifting blame is neither. Shame on you for your response, maybe after a few lawsuits you'll take the hint.
Original review:
Been coming here almost since they opened and for quite a while they were great. However, the last few months the quality has gone downhill. The last time I went here I got several bad items including 6 pieces of separately packaged fish that were chewy and tough as well as some pork ribs that smelled like rotten eggs straight out of the pack. Everything was handled the same I always do.
Unfortunately I won't be back as I'm not a big fan of food poisoning. Very...
Read moreBefore you go to the grocery store, check here first! Stopped in for the first time a few weeks back. I picked up some fajita seasoned beef and tortillas. Cooked the fajitas up tonight and they were excellent! Just got back from Prolific where we picked up some fajita chicken, more tortillas, gouda cheese and some ground beef - a chuck, NY strip and brisket blend. Can't wait to make some burgers! Price wise seems like you will pay about the same, maybe 10% more than you would at Kroger for most stuff, but the quality at Prolific seems to be WAY better. They also have some exotic meats - Alligator, Elk, Goat as well as a good selection of seafood. As an added bonus, if you like to sous vide cook, a lot of their meats are vacuum sealed in a chamber sealer, so you can go straight to cooking from the fridge/freezer. Staff is outstanding as well. Will be visiting this place A LOT!!!
2/1/24 Cooked up the fajita seasoned chicken breast we had bought and thrown in the freezer, FANTASTIC!!!!! half the portion fed 4 of us, have the other...
Read moreI'm going to start this review off by saying, do not listen to the singular one star review. The meats here are absolutely phenomenal, from their prime ribeye steaks, to the wagyu picanah, and the wagyu brisket, I cannot express on how satisfied I've been with the selection my good friend Angel has in his shop. I purchased prime beef ribs (3 ribs to be precise) a wagyu brisket, and a pork butt for memorial day weekend/my dad's birthday, and after all was said and done, the beef ribs were gone, there was only 1 lb left of a 14 lb brisket, and while I didn't cook the pork shoulder long enough, it was still pretty good. If you're wanting high quality meat, with reasonable prices, then Prolific Butcher Shop is the place to be. Oh and the grass fed cows milk, and locally made preserves/jellies are worth a...
