HK Sushi — Restaurant in Watauga

I chose this place because it was rated so high, however my experience wasn't the best. The menu doesn't clearly put if there's tempura bits on some of their rolls. This is an issue because I have celiac disease, I can't eat anything with wheat on it. I told the server this when I received my rolls with tempura bits and inquired about why it wasn't listed on the menu. She just took a new order and ensured the next ones didn't have tempura on them which was nice. However I ended up having to pay for the uneaten mishaps and the new rolls. Kind of sucked but I'm not hurting for money, so whatever. After 10 minutes of eating though, a huge horse fly lands on my roll and just runs all over it. I caught it and threw it out the door. At this point I was done and decided to leave with the person I came with. I paid and decided to just not come back. I'd highly suggest listing tempura bits on the menu and investing...

I'm so happy to have this place so close to my house. I haven't had a single thing there that I wouldn't order again; everything looks beautiful and tastes delicious. For apps, the pokemon ball and the sushi nachos are great. We've ordered most, if not all, of the specialty rolls over multiple visits. The standouts for us were: the sashimi roll--- it's wrapped in cucumber instead of rice, so it's light and refreshing. the mountain roll-- it's an actual mountain of sushi that's fun to eat I could keep going, but you really can't go wrong with anything here. We went soon after they opened for the day & so it was quiet. Building outside looks non-assuming but the food was incredible. We’re from the Pacific coast and are used to decent seafood and even better sushi. To say this restaurant was ‘good’ is an understatement. We ordered six rolls to try between the two of us, some familiar rolls and some to experience: every single roll was delicious. We ate all of the sushi and did so in record time.
