Hasna's Grill — Restaurant in Waterbury

(2025 UPDATE) I initially gave the restaurant a 5 star, and it will now have to be reduced for the following reasons. I recently picked up their lunch special butter chicken and realized very quickly that the portions have changed. In 2024, I got Salad 10%, Chicken 40%, and Rice 50%. Now, in 2025 their serving Salad 40%, Chicken 20% and Rice 40%. What's the point of calling it a Butter Chicken lunch special if you give the customer more rice and salad instead of chicken. (Video has been posted. Don't be fooled by the sauce placed over the rice to make the butter chicken portion look bigger; it had very few pieces of actual chicken).

(2024 - The initial 5 Star Review) From first-time customer to regular customer. I purchased a chicken wrap ($6.99) with small fries ($2.99). The food was fresh and tasty. The chicken has a tint of Cajun taste to it. I intentionally took a photo of the food next to their menu for measurement purposes.

I checked out their lunch special ($9.99) menu, and both the advertised combo's with Rice & Chicken are fresh & well made.

The environment is typically clean and spotless, and customer service is dependent on whether you get a female or male. The males tend to be rough around the edges, and the females are typically friendly and polite.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Hasana's Grill. I had planned to dine in at the restaurant, but when I arrived at 8:55pm, I was told that dine-in was closed. This was despite the fact that the restaurant was scheduled to close at 10:00pm. To make matters worse, when I asked for take away, I was told that I could only order from three dishes on the menu, with no salads or sides. This was extremely disappointing, as I had been looking forward to trying the full range of dishes on the menu. I understand that the staff may have wanted to leave early, but this should not have been at the expense of the customers. I will not be returning to Hasana's Grill in the future.

Update on this : still the worst service provided. I was there back to feel better from my previous experience. But, I regret it now. I was there October,13, 2024 and showed the lady at the counter and told her that I was promised with a $20 off but she said it was nothing they did at Husnas grill and also she said the comment was from last year. What do you expect me to come the next day after a bad experience?

First time here and I left with a really bad impression. We ordered from the menu which has some photos of the plates and they don’t represent what the plate will look like. We order the shawarma dinner and the photo showed a plate with rice, meet, hummus, salad and another side. The shawarma dinner didn’t include the hummus and the other side and when I asked the lady who was in charge she just told me that those were just photos. For me that’s deceiving because I order that because I wanted the hummus too. Also they charge you a 10% service they never tell you upfront. We tipped on top of that because we didn’t know about this until we rechecked the receipt. When we asked again the lady in charge she just said that it’s the service they charge to bring the plates to your table. 🙄 Which I’m guessing it doesn’t include drinks because you have to go to the fridge and get your own pitcher for your table. The service is bad, they never even checked once if we needed something, and I can see that the lady in charge knows about this and is ready to defend whatever sketchy thing is going on.
