If you have a healthy appetite, and you like all-you-can-eat Chinese Buffets, then this is a great place to go if you're looking for a sit down, "better than take-out" place to eat in this particular part of Waterbury.
There's a huge variety of different food items to eat in the buffet area (especially Asian of course), but if there are any finicky eaters in your group, they also have other choices as well, such as: Baked Fish, oven-fried potatoes, and even pizza. There's also a Sushi Bar; grilling area, where you can make requests ; and an Ice Cream and Dessert Bar.
For the most part, I always leave here feeling full and satisfied. IMO, it's not really much different than most other decent Chinese Buffets, and there is, pretty much, all of the same food choices, too. Nothing unusual or especially noteworthy to point out, except these small Coconut Milk Geletin cups in the dessert area, that I particularly like.
My only complaint about this place is that I usually like to have a cup of hot Tea when I eat Chinese food. To me, it just seems to go together! But the hot Tea, here, tastes terrible!! It's a very odd type that I don't recognize nor recommend! So, I get the iced tea, instead (because it seems to be made with regular tea). I would think that a Chinese Restaurant would definitely have good tea!! But that isn't the case, here.
Aside from the hot Tea. . . Oh! And also, if you happen to go on a day and at a time when it is crazy packed and busy, and there are a swarm of families with kids, there, who are noisy, messy at the buffet, and have no table manners nor social etticate (but that applies at EVERY restaurant) then, I give this place gets a thumbs up (several of my friends and relatives do, too).
Not the prettiest, the nicest, nor the best; and when there's a big crowd with lots of kids. . . not recommended at all! But otherwise. . . it's always so much better than...
Read moreWATERBURY CT: I'm a regular take out customer at this location ON WOLCOTT ROAD, WATERBURY CT. The owners know me. I went there today to order my usual take out...different styles of chicken, no rice and a small piece of fish. Sea food price is $8.99 per pound and everything else is $6.99 per pound. Because the fish was in the same container with the chicken, the owner lady tried to charge me $8.99 per pound for entire order, which obviously is cheating me out of my money. She first rang up everything and said it was $9.45 and because of the seafood she changed the charge to $12.69. As I'm a loyal customer and didn't have enough to pay the $12.69, I asked the lady to honor the first charge of $9.45, which she refused. I was in shock! I go to this restaurant at least 2-3 times a week. I said to her if she would prefer to throw out the food instead of honoring me the cheaper price...she said she will eat the food herself. I walked out the restaurant and after about 10 minutes...I sent my friend whom I was with to go inside to see if they put the food back to resell. Sure enough, the half of snapper fish was put back for sale. My friend saw one of the workers with the carton of food I had, putting back the chicken, and ribs back with the other foods to resell. SO PEOPLE BEWARE OF THIS RESTAURANT WHEN DOING TAKE OUT ORDERS. PUT YOUR SEA FOOD IN A SEPARATE CONTAINER TO AVOID BEING RIPPED OFF. I'M GLAD I CAUGHT THE SCAMMER OWNER WOMAN WHO TRIED TO OVERCHARGE ME. I NEVER LIKED A THIEF AND TO SEE SHE WOULD RATHER LOSE A LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR LESS THAN $3.00 SAYS ALOT ABOUT THEM. MR WOK DON'T AND WON'T GET MY MONEY AGAIN.. I WILL NEVER EVER SET MY FEET BACK IN THIS PLACE AGAIN. I MISS THE OLD OWNERS, THEY VALUED...
Read moreI was REALLY in the mood for Chinese. I was told this place was good, so I gave it a try.
I was with my boyfriend and younger brother, and by the time we got to the place, my brother wasnât feeling well. He tried to eat some stuff but had a bite of chicken, a bite of lo menu, and half of a garlic bread. Remember this, weâll be getting back to it.
First off, the food. The food was alright. It was kind of cold when we got our first helping, but by my boyfriend and Iâs second helping, it was hotter. The best thing to me was the crab Rangoon, honey chicken, and the rice. My boyfriend liked the meatballs, wonton soup, said sushi was okay, and really liked the ice cream.
Anyway, as we were getting ready to pay, I asked the woman (she looked like a higher up) at the front register if it was okay that I could just pay for the two dinners, as my brother wasnât feeling well, and barely ate anything. Btw this meal for four came to 43 dollars and change with tax. Thatâs a little over $13 for a dinner which I didnât realize and isnât worth it. Anyway, she called for someone else, donât know if she talked to anyone but cane back within 10 seconds, and said âwell, because she wrote it down on the paper that it was three dinners, I canât do anything but I can give charge him the kid meal price.â So I said okay.
âOkay $40â
Wait what? They just took away the tax... sigh I legit canât.
Oh and to top it off, their credit machine was shut down, and they didnât think to tell us that when we first got seated. I didnât have cash, and my brother had to pay for food he didnât even eat.
Even though there are a few things i would go back for, Iâm not entirely sure if i ever...
