Wasabi Sushi House — Restaurant in Waterbury

I decided to try this place with my wife and three friends. The first thing my wife noticed upon walking in was the still-standing fake Christmas tree in the dining room. Considering it's mid-late April, this was the first red flag. We were one of two occupied tables in the entire dining room. Our server came around and took our drink orders first. We both asked for bubble tea but she did not bring us that menu with the others so she had to grab one for us. I ordered a strawberry milk with mango boba, and my wife ordered the watermelon tea with rainbow boba. We also both ordered waters. Our friends had not arrived yet.

Shortly after taking our orders, the waitress came back and explained that there was no more rainbow boba and my wife changed her order to contain the strawberry boba instead. A few minutes later, she returned with our boba drinks, but no waters. Our friends had also arrived at this point. One of them ordered a strawberry boba tea with tapioca balls. One ordered a water, and one ordered a coke. I reminded her that my wife and I were also still waiting for waters.

She came back with the waters and coke very quickly, and we had to remind her who they were going to as if she had been away for hours or as if the restaurant was busy. She walked away and came back again with a boba tea for my other friend stating that there were no tapioca balls left, asking if she was wanted strawberry balls instead. My friend said yes and the waitress handed her the already-modified boba tea as if it was made by mistake and she didn't want to waste it.

She then took our orders. I ordered a spicy cheetos roll, chicken and steak hibachi with noodles. My one of my friends also ordered a hibachi dish and the others shared some some sushi rolls. The hibachi dishes included salads that she came back with shortly after. When she got to our table, she asked us "did you order hibachi"? I was floored by this and had to ask her to repeat the question twice before saying yes and accepting my salad.

The salad was... ok. The dressing was very watery. A few minutes later, she came by with what was supposed to be the spicy cheetos roll but was instead a spicy tuna roll. She ended up just leaving it on our table so we had extra food which was a nice gesture.

Soon our plates came out and to no surprise, we had to tell her where they went. Upon first glance, I could tell that I was going go be disappointed. My spicy cheetos roll followed shortly after, and for the first time, she knew who a dish was supposed to go to.

All of our food was over sauced and under seasoned. The hibachi noodles were goopy and sticky. They tasted and were textured like they came from a microwavable box meal and reheated days later. My steak was supposed to be medium rare but was medium well. My chicken had a very crunchy weird awful texture to it. There were similar complaints all around the table. My sushi was disappointing. What was considered a "special roll" was actually very basic and didn't taste very good. The other sushi ordered by my friends was also disappointing. I was told that the lobster in the roll was chewy and overcooked.

This is the first time I had gone to hibachi and hadn't finished most of my food. In fact, I only ate the steak in its entiret because I was hungry and I had plenty of sauce to dip it in to improve the flavor... Although the sauce was very bland as well.

We all got boxes to take our food home but four out of 5 of us just left it on the table and went home unsatisfied. In conclusion, I don't understand how this restaurant has such great reviews. I will...

This used to be a great place to eat when it was called Hannas, operated by different owners. My review back then was a 5 star rating, but now it is a 3 stars. I'll start with the food. I purchased the Hibachi which contained fried rice, steak and noodles, salad and soup. With the previous owners the steak was so juicy and cooked to perfection on the grill, but with this new menu, the steak had thick sweet sauce on it which made it taste so unappealing. The rice tasted very mushy as well, soup and salad was ok. Now to talk about the service. My boyfriend and I decided to dine at the bar to enjoy some drinks as well. Twice we ordered a drink which they didn't have available to our preference. Also ordered a shot of blackberry brandy, only to be offered Cherry brandy instead. We were constantly under watch when we would get up to use the restroom as if we were going to leave without paying, and they literally closed out our tab without asking if we were done ordering. Lastly, the atmosphere was ok, but it should have been better. It was very bright inside with loud music. I personally do not feel that the atmosphere of a Hibachi dining room, matched the type of dining experience I paid for. The parking is ok, but not very big. In my opinion, much improvements are needed for a much smoother...

To start, this is my humble opinion, this review is not bad just to explain that sometimes it is good to have professional workers in the kitchen . It's not always about being liked, it's about service and quality.

Everything started well, until we ordered a passion fruit mojito, which was more sugar than anything, apart from the fact that the cocktail was transparent and not the color of the fruit. Apart from that, the children loved it and ordered a strawberry drink with bubba. that they loved it🥰.

In my case I ordered a cocktail called dragon fruit mai tai, that drink was perfect!! with everything and presentation!

Unfortunately the preparation of the main hibachi meal was not very good, starting with the presentation of the egg the cook almost hit me, 😅 I died of fright, after that in the preparation of the rice I did not have the best cooking and the rice and the Egg combination was not very good (nothing personal) but we didn't like it.

the preparation of shrimp and chicken! It was exquisite because he let it cook as it is. Like the shrimp, we really liked them.Personal note (when you serve the chicken and shrimp, try not to put all the sauce on top of the rice, it looks like a soup.
