Mi Lupita Bakery & Restaurant — Restaurant in Waterbury

Where do I begin 🤦🏼‍♀️ The first time I placed an order with this bakery the lady looked as if she was swamped with orders and was like a chicken with no head .. my husband said to me let’s give her a break she seems busy .. okay I placed an order by phone with the owner & told her I needed a cake for Saturday she supposedly took down my info & I specifically said for Saturday. We both agreed for 1 pm I stated that it was for my husbands birthday & etc . I call ahead of time because I was afraid she wasn’t going to have it ready like she did the first time I called & nothing I get there & there open & doing there thing. I get there I asked for the order I made and I see no cake in sight & she looked at me as if i was speaking in another language. like dude I placed the order on Wednesday, I was heated I said I’d make a call & she went on as if nothing happened! she’s super unorganized , rude & seems as if she’s having a brain fog 24/7 & she definitely needs help in her place of business I will definitely not take my business to her, i don’t recommend this place I’ll go to pan del...

The place is a hole in the wall kinda place which I usually love but i wasn't too happy with this place. The girl at the counter took the order and when we ordered the 'birria tacos' which itself cost $11, we thought it was something awesome. The girl at the counter said if we need the soup to eat it with and we said of course.. not knowing that was another $11 .. the taco was a regular one and idk how $11 can justify it and the soup was a tiny cup of beef broth and i have no idea how they justified $22 for both. I hope in the future when you tell a customer its the soup that u eat with the taco, you also mention it is another order that is $11. I dont really mind paying for food but $22 for one taco and a side of beef broth can't justify it. Now coming to the taste.. i have had better authentic mexican meals from other places.. the bakery was okay but the cakes we got were dry and the cream on top of it was salty. Overall not happy..hope they see this review and make the experience better for the customers to feel a value for money when they visit...

I went last night w my boyfriend &the food was sooooo good we are from the bronx and moved here to waterbury &WE APPROVE!!! they are sooo nice 😊 the food was fresh and affordable. I got the chicken quesadillas con peppers and onions and the cheese they used was soooo good i wanna say feta and fresh mozzarella but im not sure it sounds like something so simple but it was soooo good and they dont use the cheap stuff the sour cream was the mexican kind not the american which i love and the pico de gallo was perfect !!! My boyfriend got a shrimp burrito and hes very picky he was sooo happy with the rice beans shrimp ratio every bite he got some of everything. We drank tamarindo jarrito and we got flan AMAZING!!
