I will say I have enjoyed my experience there thus far. I've only gone four times. The first time I went with an Irish friend. I only mention that because I am African American and Mexican. I never see anyone like me there. Ever. Again I mentioned all of this because my most recent experience was horrible! I went in as I normally do and asked if I could place my order I was told to wait just a moment and someone would take it. 5 minutes later no one took my order I went to the end of the bar to inquire again do I place my order here? I was told to wait a moment and someone will take your order. Once again I waited 5 minutes and no one acknowledged me no one took my order I was completely and utterly ignored. And it wasn't even one of their busier days. As they do seem to keep a very busy crowd. As I mentioned I very much enjoy the food. And I will give a shout out to one of the waitresses named Danny! She is awesome! I did not see her when I went in yesterday November 17th which was a Sunday. At any rate I wanted to post my dismay. I hope this was just a fluke. But from my observation it was a very blatant and very rude ignoring of the customer.
I'm updating my Post........ I gave Kennedy's another try because they're in the neighborhood. But to my disappointment they failed epically 😩😣 I wanted to be sure before I posted again about the racism. Unfortunately, the racism is accurate. We must do better it's 2025 already. Get over yourselves. There are more races than just White. 🙄
Today I went and visited this racist pub because an out of town friend wanted corned beef. I live less than a mile from this establishment and I warned them they do not give blacks good service. The ol no pickle trick 🙄 was in effect. I've been more than fair in giving this place opportunities to avoid misunderstandings. Sad but true they're just racist. My people you've been warned. Kennedy's you don't have to worry about me crossing your doorstep in the future. Color...
Read moreI've probably driven by Kennedy's Irish Pub oh my gosh over the years dozens and dozens of times I've never had the opportunity to stop in there but I did Sunday afternoon oh my gosh what have I been missing. I found out what I've been missing the choices were incredible and I finally settled on the burger section I got the world's most incredible bleu cheese sliced green olive burger! oh Lord, it was thick! The nice bartender that took my order over the phone, asked me, "how I wanted it cooked" + I knew when she asked me that, this was going to be a good burger! I got it charred rare just the way I love a burge,r and let me tell you the bun was incredible the burger itself was square and thick and not one bit of that melted bleu cheese and sliced green olives, came off, or out of that burger- while I was eating it! it is put together so wel!l Now it came with your choice of sides and I picked french fries and I highly, highly recommend Kennedy's Irish Pub's burger's if you've never had one. Next time I think I'm going to try their Shepherd's Pie ooh did that look good. As I said, the choices are several, in every category and it was easy for me to find the menu by googling it and I just loved it there it's got that great ambience and it's actually family friendly and my favorite part was the decor and the lighting I love a darker bar restaurant there's just something about it. The waitress/bartender who took my order, was very sweet and didn't tease me when I ordered two sides of mayonnaise for my French fries although I'm Irish I'm -I'm also half English and that is healthy English eat their French fries ,which was sweet of her-she said no problem we have a few people that eat them that way so I wasn't embarrassed and my food was hot and ready waiting to go for me and I grab that and my tall Coke and just had an incredible hot delicious dinner in the car and loved every minute of it till next time...
Read moreI really hope the owner reads these reviews because tonight I was really impressed with Kennedy staff.
I've been in many bars but one thing that is very rare is for an employee to stop a patron from walk out the door drunk. I witnessed that happen tonight. In my opinion Ryan and Meghan deserve some promotions and/or raises and here's why:
Ryan was my bar tender. I asked him to make me an Irish Flag shot. He didn't know how to make it. I told him once how to make it and he made it great and didn't even use a bar spoon to layer the drink - something that even I haven't mastered. This was his first time making the shot at all.
Even more importantly, Meghan (sp?) stopped a costumer from leaving intoxicated. This is HUGE. My cousin owned a bar and never once did I see any of her employees act with such integrity. My hat off to this employee for looking out for patrons first and foremost. In my opinion, the owner should make an example of these two employees with a fat bonus, but even if she doesn't, I'll continue to come here simply for the fact that the employees are awesome and the drinks are reasonably priced. Definitely a go to spot in Waterford.
Update: This place is still amazing. I go here all the time. Just one piece of advice for those who come here ONLY on St. Patrick's day - you will wait 15+ minutes for a beer. THIS IS NORMAL ON ST. PATS. Try going to a bar any of the other 364 days a year to get...
