Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Watsonville

Holy sheep sh~t.. this was the worst experience I have had in a restaurant in many years, and one of the worst all time. For my gal as well.

First, we were skeptical but hopeful. We go into the bar, not the dining area. There is sht all over the empty tables and the 2 open seats at the bars have sht in front of them. I mean sht, sht, sh~t. Just a mess.

There are ZERO busboys. ZERO. The servers are supposed to clean up, but none are doing it. I mean no kidding, not exaggerating, the tables were heinous beyond belief.

We finally sit at one of those raised tables and it cluttered with sht. After 5 minutes (at least) a waitress comes by and takes our order. She takes it to the bar, but this godzilla-like bartendress is too busy doing godzilla knows what - but DEFINITELY not getting our drinks! We wait 10 minutes. Like 10 real no sht minutes. And it is not slam azz busy.

We are waiting for some seats to open up at the bar. If this one gal leaves, that gives us 2 seats by each other. She leaves and we grab her seat. Mind you she did not have an alcohol drink and left most of her food on her plate - I vividly recall this as her plate sat in front of me for most of my drink.

Shortly after we sit down, the godzilla-like bartendress comes up to us, squints and scowls and in the sh~ttiest tone asks "Where'd you come from??" I mean, was she told by management "Be a cvnt to the customers. They love it."

I was speechless. I didn't know what to say. She was literally sht-azz disgusted that we moved from the table to sht covered bar. My gal said we moved from the table. But it's not like she didn't know as it is a small bar and she could clearly see us there. She was just being a [BLANK].

My gal and I can see back to where the kitchen is. There is like 3 or 4 managers (based on how they were dressed / name tags) just laughing and yuckin' it up while their incompetent staph left dirty plates and glasses all over the table and bar, took 15 minutes to get TWO PINTS OF BEER FOR ME AND MY GAL, and this wretch of a bartender ...

It was epically bad. Heinous. Horrible. Zero possibility of ever returning. We wanted to get 2-3 drinks each (or more, you know how that goes). But that atmosphere, the sh~t on all the tables/bar, lack of busboys, 15 minutes to get a pint of beer poured - so bad.

So bad, I feel sorry for all of them. I have pity. We got our bill and left exact change down...

*No tip left experience *

I always tip even if the service is subpar. This was my first time ever not leaving a tip. The service at this place has been terrible three times that I've gone. They need management to step up. Food is always good though.

This one was the worst experience. There were only about 5 tables taken around 9pm. server came about 15min after we sat down. You can also tell other tables around me were anxious about not seeing the server so I'm not too sure how long before that he wasn't seen.

We were waiting for so long that we ordered our drinks, Appetizers and Dinner at the same time.

Food came in on time and everything was good. But we never saw the server come around during that time.

We had ordered Ranch with our order and splenda. The server forgot so we told him about it (no big deal). Except he never came back with it (Again, no big deal)

After another while had passed and he came back to check up on us we asked for a few refills and also the Ranch and splenda that he forgot. He said "oh yeah" and went on his way.

He came back with the refills and again no sauce or splenda so we told him again. Again he never came back.

You could see people around were having the same issues with this guy as they kept purposely looking around trying to make it known that they're in need of something and they even had to go look for him

We had to stand up and track him down twice for refills and the Ranch also. I was already frustrated as it is with the service but what did it was when me and another table had to track him down for our bill. Thats when i said "nope, there is no way I'm leaving this guy a tip".

At that point, why even have a server if we need to stand up to track him down? Might as well have a soda machine and a condiment section. Took me longer to find him than it would have taken me to walk to a soda machine.

I'm not sure if staffing is the issue or management. But something definitely has to change at this location.

I was driving up to it thinking "MAN, I hope they've gotten their issues figured out" but for the third time, their service was a MAJOR disappointment.

Again, food was good though. Just make sure you order all your drinks, refills and ask for your check all on the first conversation before you need to go on a search and rescue mission trying to...

EDITED 4-30-22 FROM TODAY'S VISIT

TERRIBLE, absolutely terrible and I'll tell you why. We went for lunch at approx 2:30 in a group of 5 adults and 1 child. The waitress was incredibly rude from the start, very curt and acted as though we were bothering her by being there. First when bringing out drinks she dropped them so hard on the table that some the mtn dew splashed out into the tray. Then when serving food plates they were basically thrown at us with my mother in laws hanging half off the table. Then we realized the reason she was so upset. Her boyfriend was sitting at the bar and we took her away from hanging out with him. That was made clear when she left us with no drink refills so that she could go over and sit and love up on him, very unprofessional. If she's going to be rude to customers then she should quit so she can spend her day with her man instead. (Check the cameras at the bar, you'll see what we're talking about) Now on to the food.. we got the bourbon st chicken and it was so greasy that even napkins didn't take away the mess. Mashed potatoes were clumpy like they were instant and not mixed correctly so you could taste the little crunchy things and the children's broccoli was was undercooked and basically still raw. Had a late lunch today, waited over 20 minutes for a table. The shaggy haired waiter was coughing and sniffling which already had me on edge considering we had a child with us. He took our drink and appetizers order and then it took forever for him to bring them. When the food came out, my broccoli was totally raw and not steamed at all. The mashed potatoes on both my husband's and my plate were completely cold and unedible. I would not recommend this Applebee's AT ALL.. And I hope I don't end up sick because the waiter had some...
