tacos al fuego — Restaurant in Watsonville

This place was pretty good. I got a burrito with carnitas, we also got an asada burrito, super nachos with carnitas, and a taco with carnitas and one with al pastor. Overall it was pretty tasty. The only gripe I have is the carnitas had too much oil and fat and the al pastor had too much oil by a lot. If they can cut down on the oil of the meats it would definitely increase the rating. The service was great, they were friendly, and the manager or owner not sure even talked to us for a minute and asked us how it was. Would definitely go again, hope the oil will be reduced...

I don't often review restaurants, but when I do, I either love the place or hate it. Unfortunately, Tacos al Fuego is the latter. Their burrito was very likely the worst I ever had. It was CRAZY oily. It had very little flavor (aside from the salsa), and had pieces of onions that were cut so large, it was hard to eat (I kid you not, there were pieces of onions in there that were the size of a quarter of a whole onion). The burrito made me seriously bloated. My friends had a similar experience and described the burrito as the "nightmare burrito." Never going to go...

This place is within a large outdoor "food court" area called Watsonville Hangar, since it is across the street from the Watsonville airport. We came around 9.30 on a Friday night and enjoyed our dinner here very much. One of us got a huge thing of nachos. The rest of us had various burritos--pork, chicken, bean and cheese, and steak.
