I was door dashing and it took 20 minutes to get the order while it was slow. When I walked in to get the order which included (10 nugget meal, 6 nugget kids meal, and a Big Mac meal) there were about 5 orders on the drive thru screen. They had the front counter screen completely empty even though not all the orders were out. I saw 3 front counter tickets sitting there on the side of the front counter screen. (I used to work at McDonalds and a couple other fast food restaurants so I know where everything is and how things are ran) anyways as I was still waiting the cleared drive thru and still continued to focus on more drive thru orders while ignoring front counter. I also was not greater at all. They had about 8 employees so they were not short staffed. Half of the staff seemed to be chit chatting and taking their time on orders.
Another customer who was waiting for food in side finally got hers but accidentally dropped the bag spilling 5 small fries. I had helped pick up the wrappers and was helping to clean the fries as an employee walked past stares went to the bathroom came back out and still stared while not helping (there were brooms next to the delivery pick up area) I find this whole interaction completely unacceptable and unprofessional. There were 3 mangers there who seemed to not keep the rest of the crew in order and making sure orders were getting out. It wasn’t until 15 minutes in a manger finally asked what was taking front so long even though he had walked past front multiple times.
If orders are not complete they should not be off the screen yes corporate is very stingy on times but clearing the screen prematurely is just an invitation to orders being missed. I have seen it time and time again. I really hope management understands how bad this looks on the company and works...
Read moreBottom line up front: How do you downgrade the experience at McDonald's (at least for me)? Easy, force me to use an ordering kiosk.
Recently I visited this McDonalds as I was excited to check out their newly remodeled dining room. Previously the dining room had been a part of a gas station and left a lot of room for improvement, and I wanted to see the improvements.
The space itself looks great, it is large, well lit, there are comfortable chairs, and it is clean. However, I am not impressed by the focus that is being placed on kiosk ordering.
There are only two registers, one was closed, no one appeared to be manning the second one and I had to use the self order kiosk. Things that do not impress me about this: 1) I am about to eat, after using a public computer terminal to order I now should wash my hands, it is flu and cold season and I for one do not trust that most people wash their hands often enough. 2) The kiosks are easy to use, but I prefer that trained personnel take my order as they are faster at the job (and this does not result in my needing to wash my hands prior to getting my beverage and eating). 3) The drink cups are out in the public space directly by the order kiosks for customers to get their own directly after ordering (Once again the germophobe in me cringes). 4) Come on McDonalds, you already typically have a skeleton crew running your restaurants; I prefer that a human takes my order. I would much rather order from my phone if I will be forced to order electronically.
The food: It is McDonald's, so what do you expect? The food was good, but I have always been a pretty big fan of their fast food. The people were friendly, and this is also to...
Read moreFood was average for McD's, though I guess they've still yet to learn how to put a sandwich together straight, and not drench it in sauce. Firstly, the mobile app wouldn't let me order to this location, so I went to the kiosk, which didn't have any table numbers to take, and nobody was even coming to the desk to take orders verbally, so I had to just hope they'd be smart enough to come around and ask my name and not just leave it on the table. When the girl finally did come to bring my order, she just plopped it down on the table without a word or eye contact, and didn't bring a drink cup. Ended up having to go grab a cup myself because still there was nobody at the desk, and then had to wait for a good 2 minutes for one of the workers to figure out what SHE wanted to drink and was oblivious to the people waiting behind her. All of the tables were dirty, floor was trashed, not one person came out the entire time to clean. I don't even want to imagine the play area. It wouldn't be all that hard to step up most of this, but honestly it appears that they've all stopped trying a long time ago. Worst of the worst environments and services I've had...
