Taco John's — Restaurant in Waukee

Our visit to Taco John's was frustrating. First, we ordered on the app for curbside pickup and drove to the restaurant. After checking in and waiting for 20 minutes, we went inside to see where the food was. We were told they don't bring the food out to the car. If that's the case, why does the app ask for make, model, and color of the car? Weird, but whatever.

After getting our food, we started to leave but we decided to check the bag first. It's a good thing we did, because half of the order was missing. We had to go back inside again. To top it all off, the other half of the order was wrong when we got home. At this point, I decided to leave feedback.

It wasn't my intention to leave a rant, but I thought this experience was worth reviewing. The worst part was how little the team working seemed to care. My wife and I have both worked in the service industry, and we get that sometimes things happen, but the restaurant wasn't busy, and no one even seemed to care that the level of service was so poor.

Next time, I think we'll just go to Taco Bell...

Appears Taco John's is going out the same way Chipotle did. By charging ridiculous prices for baby sized portions. This is their "new" spicy chicken burrito they charge $3.79 for 1, $6 for 2. We won't get into the person taking my order and getting that part wrong, repeatedly and giving me a different order.. Here is a picture of what's inside the $3.79 spicy chicken and rice burrito. LITERALLY NOT EVE A QUARTER CUP OF FOOD!!! And of that quarter cup, 90% is rice! Probably the second cheapest food filler in the world!! I'm kicking myself for not goung Tasy Tacos instead. 0/10 will return to taco johns. I also ordered the super potato oles, let me tell you....the ones taste like they've been sitting in the warmer for hours. Very...

My brother got take out and this was last night. He got two soft shell tacos and a root beer for me. I ate both tacos and drank half of the root beer. Only today, the next morning, I dumped out the rest of my root beer and saw a inch long bug. I panicked and threw it down the food disposal before I could take a photo. I’m only 14 and I’m shaking still after seeing that. I could have drank that bug and I probably wouldn’t have realized it. Who knows if my tacos had those in it as well. And no, it couldn’t have been from my house because I have never seen those bugs in my house ever. 1 star for safety and cleanliness. Food was ok but I’m not coming here again. I was wondering why I felt sick...
