Wendy's — Restaurant in Waukegan

I've been to this Wendy a few times and their food is alright. The homestyle chicken sandwich is really good when it's fresh but most of the time they give you it when it's old and dry. But that's not why I'm writing this review. I went there tonight and there were 2 people in line in front of me and no one behind me. The girl took both their orders and walked away to start making their orders. She didn't even say one word to me. They were fully staffed so there was no need for her to not take my order first before she went and helped. She didn't wash her hands after handleing money. She started putting fries in the container and she put to many fries so she took them out with her hands and threw them back with the other fries. That's just disgusting. Finally she took my order. She wasn't very friendly. The food wasn't fresh. The chicken sandwich was dry and burnt. The chicken tenders were dry and gross. I threw my food away. And I didn't even touch the fries after seeing her touch them with unwashed hands. I won't be back at...

This place is only good when they aren't busy. They have the ability to make good food, but most of the time the drive through is crazy long, but if you go inside to avoid the drive through line you wait even longer because it seems they only station a cashier at the drive through window. You will have to ask someone to take your order if you go inside. When they are busy they leave their food under heat lamps for way too long, the food gets dry and hard, and you can even tell when they've had to replace the lettuce because it sat so long that it wasn't fresh anymore. The few times I've tried to do Uber eats with them it has taken at least an hour and a half, sometimes more than 2 hours, to get my food, even though it's only a a few minutes down the road. And by that time the food is always cold, or simply reheated. Wendy's in general is better fast food than McDonald's or Burger King, and I don't mind paying more for it, but this location is managed horribly and I will be taking my business to other locations...

Welcome to the worst Wendy's in Illinois. Legitimately. Just don't. Dont think, "its so simple, they cant possibly screw it up THAT bad"... because they absolutely can with absolute flaming glory. The meat is always freezer burnt, the orders are always wrong, they must make fries once a day and just shovel them from the same trash can for the rest of the day. I can't possibly express not just how bad this place is, its not like wendys is THAT GREAT, but assuming ypure average wendys is a 10/10 then this place is -20/10. Its so much worse than any other Wendy's that i have ever been to that, frankly, id rather eat at the local soup kitchen. Never again. The owner of this establishment ought to be ashamed at the utter vacancy of self respect that they clearly abandoned long ago. The staff.. idk, probably best to just have em put down.. lest they wind up somewhere that actually matters.
