My experience here has left me unsettled even though my lunch is over.
I normally pack my lunch and eat at the office. Seeing as this was the last opportunity to have a lunch with my family before my wife’s maternity leave was over, we decided to meet up at Qdoba for what we thought would be a nice family lunch. Unfortunately, the good times only lasted until 1/3rd of the way through our ordering process.
It was lunch hour and it was very busy. As someone who used to work in the industry, I get these can be stressful times, however the attitude we were met with at the register, was extremely unnecessary.
When we got to the area where we order there was an obvious language barrier, not a big deal, we can figure it out. My 3 year old daughter wanted tacos with beans, I asked for the beans on the side, but they were on top of the tacos; not a big deal, we can help her pick around them. That is where the enjoyable experience ended.
I ordered nachos and was given chips and queso instead, once again no big deal. Someone else came to the window and I tried explaining the mix up and that I wanted the nachos not the chips and queso. For some reason this irritated the workers as I continued trying to explain I wanted nachos and not chips and queso. I was met with attitude and my nachos were slapped together and at the register before being asked what I wanted on them. I explained I wanted toppings, but I was made to feel like I was an evil human being for simply explaining that the food I was being given was not what I wanted. At the register I was trying to explain again The food I was given was not what I wanted. I was treated with “I’m not doing this with you” as she proceeded to charge me for the chips and queso that I never ordered. I also figured it wasn’t worth the hassle anymore trying to explain I wanted toppings on my nachos as well.
I waited until there were no more people in line and the rush was over to bring the chips and queso back and try to figure out where things went wrong and why there was hostility towards me. The lady who stepped in when ordering was kind and offered to refund the chips and queso and I explained I simply was trying to explain what I was getting wasn’t what I wanted. I apologized for any miscommunication and explained I did not want any tension, I was just trying to explain that I wanted nachos, not chips and queso.
When she was walking me over the register, I was met with attitude once again. First she turned away and gave the sign of the cross, like she needed strength to communicate with me ( I am religious myself, I have no issues with the act itself, only the fact it was used as sign as I was some kind of hindrance to her). Then it was “if he wants a refund where are the chips and queso” which I brought back untouched. The first lady I communicated with was reaching for the queso, then the cashier said “no he’s not getting them”. Once again, I could care less about getting the queso, I didn’t order them in the first place, but once again I felt like I was the bane of her existence. I once again tried to calmly explain, I wasn’t trying to create any tension I was just trying to explain the food I was getting wasn’t what I was ordering. She then responded I had a hard time understanding what you were saying. This was upsetting to hear since the whole entire scenario would have never happened if someone stepped in and actually listened to the customer, rather than immediately resorting to hostility.(there was no language barrier with the cashier).
I’ve spent many years as a fast food employee and give them all the credit in the world for what they endure. The way I was treated in front of my wife and children is inexcusable.
I went in there for an opportunity to enjoy one last lunch before the end of maternity with my wife, my 3 year old daughter, and my 3 month daughter. Instead of enjoying ourselves, we were met with hostility and had an extremely uncomfortable and...
Read morewow... I used to come to this qdoba every day. I now remember why I stopped coming. In the afternoon they used to have 2 awesome guys that were managers I assume. They were competent and followed qdoba expectations for servings. I ordered steak and brisket for my bowl. I could count with one hand how many chunks of steak I got and the smallest pinch of brisket...wtf? Bel Air cantina offers the same type of burrito bowl with ALOT more protein with damn near the same price. This location has gone so far down hill. This isn't the first time this has happened, I have had to politely ask for a reasonable amount of protein every time and they still fall short. 1 serving = 2 full scoops. Protein is the most important part of the bowl. If your doing it to stretch the food out so the cooks can be lazy.. just stop and do better. This is beyond inappropriate. I'm not paying $13 for a vegetarian burrito bowl when I very specifically am paying an premium for steak and brisket. The old managers would've sent somebody home for doing that... when they were there, they earned by business everyday versus now every 8 months to see if they got a new crew of competent people. Bad attitudes, no smiles, no personality nothing. Just sad. I used to love this place, it breaks my heart. Everyday after the gym I would be here. I'm really praying for whomever owns this particular franchise, because other neighboring qdobas don't...
Read moreLast night was the last straw with this Qdoba location. I have never once had an online/app order ready on time, but last night took the cake. I submitted an order of tacos and a burrito bowl through the app which said it would be ready by 6:55pm. I arrived right around that time and it wasn’t ready. Actually, the bowl was ready, sitting there getting cold as the 4-5 employees were working to get through the 15-20 other online orders (apparently standard protocol is to randomly stick the order tickets all over the wall at the beginning of the assembly line? so much for FIFO), with my tacos nowhere to be found. I had to point out my ticket for them to even start working on it. There were other customers waiting for their online orders (in-person customers were being turned away due to the “back up”), including a DoorDash worker who was probably losing out on other orders and now making late deliveries. It was probably 7:20 by the time I received my completed order. As far as the food: no cutlery was provided for the bowl, my corn tortillas were soft, not crispy, and to top it off as I’m eating my leftovers for lunch today: an avocado sticker right on top! I wish I could say I was surprised, but this Qdoba location just...
