RESPONDING TO OWNER: You don't sound sincerely sorry. People/businesses who are sorry try and rectify the situation. I stand by review and don't accept your poor attempt at an "apology". I see this is how you respond to all complaints. REVIEW: What an unfortunate experience this was! I was excited to use a local baker for my son's 4th birthday cake. I called the bakery 2 weeks before the party to put my order in. The staff person asked me only a couple of questions, so I explained the theme (all-sports) and said that his favorite color was green and that some different sport's balls would look great. I was asked for no additional details (a picture for an example, more details, lettering type, etc.). I unfortunately assumed that this would give her the creative license in making a fun, child's cake. The picture you see is what I was given (actually, my sister was given since I couldn't be there to pick it up). I would have expressed my disappointment at the time of pick-up if I were there, but rather had to write an email detailing my issues. I paid $62 dollars for this boring cake, the writing is small, the "work" isn't creative, and it didn't seem they spent much time making my cake something special. I am more than happy to pay for a cake if it tastes good and is beautifully decorated, however this was not it. I received a response back from my email stating that the price is set based on quality ingredients ("real butter"?) and for the labor. "Even simple drawings like the one on your son’s cake takes time and effort to make it perfect. Your specific cake was also decorated by a professional who has over 20 years experience." Sorry Sweet Perfections, your simple design isn't even perfect...look at that sad basketball for starters. The worst part about this was they did nothing to try and rectify my concerns (no refund/discount - which is what I asked for). I will never recommend this place to anyone and will certainly...
Read moreSweet Perfections made my wedding cake 8 years ago. It was AMAZING. I brought in a picture of the cake that I wanted and Ken made it perfectly and to the letter. They even asked for a fabric swatch of the bridesmaids' dresses because they were a light, celadon green and I wanted some of the icing decoration to be light green also, so they matched the icing to the dress swatch--again, perfectly. My wedding guests couldn't believe the cake was real because the icing was so perfect ( and no, it wasn't fondant, it was buttercream icing and was immaculate). I also loved all the cake flavors they had--it was hard to choose a flavor and the icing was sweet enough, but not too sweet. My friends who were at the wedding still mention our cake. Everyone said it was the best cake they'd had at a wedding. Many people asked me what the name of the bakery was so they could order cakes there. I found everyone at the bakery to be pleasant and very accommodating. I've been there numerous times in the last 8 years to buy goodies--especially their filled cupcakes. Some people have mentioned that they are "pricey"--I don't think that's true. When you want quality, you have to pay for it. If you want cheap, you'll get cheap--then be prepared to have a horrible spongy box mix cake with overly sweet frosting that...
Read moreMy company was having an open house to celebrate 15 years in business. We are a marketing firm so we needed something really special. We designed an edible image to put on a half sheet, red velvet cake. When I contacted Sweet Perfections they were very professional and knowledgeable about what could be done to make our cake great. Unfortunately, their edible image machine broke down and they called me the day before to tell me that they would not be able to do our image. I had to cancel the order..we really wanted this edible image. I contacted another bakery and although they could not do the more elaborate image, they said they could do an image of our company logo. I was happy that I could get something because of the short notice. The cake we actually got from this other bakery was ridiculous. There was no image. Instead, our logo was simply drawn on the cake....very poorly...with icing. We had no choice but to use this cake for our event but it was pretty silly looking and we all had a good laugh. I should have stayed with Sweet Perfections. They are so awesome to work with, helpful staff, super knowledgeable, convenient, etc. I'm sure our cake would not have been laughed at had we stayed with Sweet Perfections. Stick with them, they will...
