Great place but with a grey area. First I will start by saying that this location has a GREAT selection of pretty much everything. With that being said, this is where the grey comes in... I am very aware of the mission of Habitat for Humanity and I support it 100% but this location has their prices set Very high. In some cases I would have been able to purchase the same items but new at a slight discount. Also, the discounts that are offered here as opposed to the Milwaukee locations are quite less (15%, 25%, 40%) compared to 25%, 50%, 75% at the Milwaukee locations. Less discounts with a much higher pricing structure seems counter productive to me. Let's keep in mind that a lot of this stuff is old and used and in some cases very used. The big question that I have is why the huge difference between county's when it is all supposed to support the same cause? I frequent the Greenfield location, (1-2 times a week), and I absolutely love it. Great staff of volunteers and very helpful. Raises my eyebrows a little to see such a big difference between location because of it being in a different county. In my opinion it should be all uniform. I am not sure if I will go back to the Waukesha location because of this. Something for Habitat to seriously consider because I doubt that I am the only one with these feelings. It just raises suspicion and that could be harmful to such a good cause. Without any consumers/supporters there wouldn't be a cause and that...
Read moreLong time customer, no longer spending or donating. We bought a house and had around $1000 in useful items in great shape. The person in back almost instantly rejected everything and said he wouldn't take a chance on it.... Brand new paint, several bottles of shellac for finishing furniture, very nice light fixtures that were stainless steel, a bath fan that was brand new.. $100 in stainless steel switch covers that were almost new but not our decor style.. now, I could understand this if I didn't walk into the store three times since then and find scratched up broken furniture, switch covers that are nicotine stained and supplies that are sealed and new like the ones I was donating.... Needless to say I went from spending on average $100 per trip minimum to $.50 per trip. I understand that people are volunteers that work here and that is a great thing, however don't volunteer if you are not going to even respect the mission. I will be going to other locations from now on and it saddens me. Your predecessors grew the business to what it is today at that location. Please do...
Read moreAttempted to donate some items at approximately 5:05 PM. When we arrived, donation drop off door was closed and clocked off even though the sign said they were open until 5:30 pm. We had called previously to confirm they were open until 5:30 pm for drop offs, and additionally confirmed with the person operating the front desk
When the drop off door was opened we were immediately told that they couldn't accept any donations except power tools, due to being too full. If the donation center had communicated this fact to the front end staff, maybe they could have communicated it to us prior to driving 20 minutes for a donation. As it was, we were not told that this ReStore was not accepting donations when he had called, and when we spoke to the person at the front desk.
Will not be attempting to donate to this...
