I have been waiting for weeks for this place to open, so I had to come in on opening day. I was planning on eating in, but they were very busy and tables were full so I decided to do carry out. The layout is somewhat strange. The counter runs the entire length of the very small space and there are about 10 tables so people waiting for their carry out orders are literally standing over people at tables eating their food. I would think that would be somewhat uncomfortable for people sitting at the tables. The five TV screens that displayed the menu extended the entire length of the counter, so you had to walk through the space in order to see the entire menu on the far screens… Again, walking in the space of those seated at tables. Maybe they can adjust the screens so the entire menu can be viewed from the ordering point nearer to the door. The prices seemed in line with similar places and the gyro was good except for they put french fries IN the pita. What? I don’t really understand why they would do that other than for the fries to act as a filler and give you less meat. I’m not a fan! I’ve been in many many gyro places and have never seen that before. Tzatziki sauce tasted good, but it was very dry and you had to spread it with a knife or spoon… You could not just pour it over the meat. $3 for a fountain soda is a bit high. $6 more for a fries/drink combo in addition to the price of the sandwich.
The staff was very friendly, although it was quite chaotic, which would be expected on their first day.
I will definitely try it again in hopes that I can improve my review, but I will definitely ask for my fries on the side. If they are successful, I can foresee that they won’t be staying in this small space for long. It was a nice atmosphere and well decorated, but they just need more space if they intend for this to be a sit...
Read moreWas so excited for this place to open, and boy, am I glad it did! I've been having to go 'Stallis or further East for a gyro craving, but now I've got a great spot close to home.
First, the location is easy to get to and there's plenty of parking. Second, the staff is so friendly and kind as they take your order and prepare your food. And third (and most importantly), the food is GREAT!
I'm a gyro person while my husband isn't, so while I got a Beef & Lamb Gyro Pita Combo, he got the Big Greek Burger Combo. Both were FANTASTIC.
I don't know that I've ever had a better seasoned gyro in my life, and the tzatziki sauce is perfection! The fries were perfect too, clearly made from real potatoes and not just frozen/reheated. My husband loved his burger (and it was definitely cooked to order) and enjoyed the Baklava too. And, yes, this might be weird to say, but I also enjoyed the ice from the beverages (IYKYK).
While we did take-out, the seating inside looked quite nice and there were more than a few patrons enjoying their meals.
We'll definitely be back and I hope you give this new small...
Read moreWe chanced by this restaurant and decided to give it a try. So happy to have found such a good gyro place nearby. It is a cozy restaurant tucked next to Great clips, near Kohls in Waukesha. It felt like I was in Mykonos :) The food was portioned generously, well worth the price. We ordered the Athenian street gyros, beef and lamb loaded supreme gyro pita, and some chicken kabobs. The tzatziki was definitely home made and tasted so refreshing - starkly different and much more better than the Costco tzatziki! The meat was tender and the gyros were very filling. With prices so high everywhere, this is a little haven that is priced affordably for families eating out. We experienced friendly service too - the person at the front did not show impatience or try to hurry us as as we ordered and gave us different options to try. I would refer Gyro House in Waukesha as a definite must try for anyone who enjoys tasty yet affordable Greek food with...
