This place is TERRIBLE on all accounts. I have to say it's the most unclean restaurant I've ever been in. The whole restaurant is very dark and dingy, and not well-lit. The dining area was disgusting (food, stickiness, smeared glass in the buffet area, floor was gross and dirty, windows were smeared, booths weren't in good condition, the whole restaurant needed a thorough cleaning and updates). If they don't care about cleanliness where the customers are, you can only imagine what kind of unsanitary conditions exist in the kitchen where the food is prepared, which likely explains why my husband and I both got very sick after eating here. The plates at the buffet stations were all wet-like really wet and there were no napkins in the area to wipe them off before putting food on them, so I'm sure our plates were swimming in bacteria from the beginning. The bathrooms here were also disgusting and in desperate need of attention.
Price is very high for the extremely low/almost inedible quality of food. We paid $12.50 each and definitely did not get our money's worth, as we had a hard time finding anything decent enough to eat. I'm usually a big fan of General Tso's chicken, but the "stuff" labeled that here definitely didn't taste like other General Tso chicken I've had and had an awful flavor. I couldn't even eat it. No orange chicken. No sesame chicken. So I tried the sweet & sour chicken. Again, no luck. I don't know what kind of "meat" was in the sweet & sour chicken but it didn't taste like chicken at all. The only decent things I found on the buffet were the green beans and crab rangoon. That doesn't say much. They did have a soft-serve ice cream machine, but no toppings. And if you want your ice cream in a bowl instead of a cone, you have to walk across the buffet area to get a bowl, instead of having any right next to the machine as would seem pretty logical.
Soda is included with the buffet. They have one Coke soda machine with a bunch of small kid-sized plastic glasses next to it. The ice part of the machine wasn't working, so not only did you have to return to the soda machine (and wait in line forever when you do) for refills every two drinks of your soda because of the small glass, but forget about having any ice with it.
Employees here were rude and unfriendly. No smiles, "excuse me"s at the buffet when they run into you, "please" or "thank you" when paying, etc. Having at least semi-friendly employees could have earned them another star and brightened our experience here a bit, but nope. I'd give zero stars if I could and definitely would...
Read moreI have always come here with my family as a child mind you I’m 25 now and gonna have a child of my own soon, I have always loved going here but now it’s obvious they aren’t interested in trying. My mother got pepper steak with onion and the meat was red and green obviously not fresh or cooked then when I confronted the lady in charge she looked at it stirred it and said it was “fresh and cooked” which I have pictures it was not. I wanted to get some too but just looking at I that meat in the buffet isle I could tell it looked off so I held off on getting it, unfortunately my mother did get it though and that meat was really nasty looking. And the only thing I care for in this restaurant is the damn jello cakes but when the jello cakes are left out to long the cake becomes hard and the jello - which is usually A thicker softer layer of color on top of the cake that tastes so delightful I could eat many more - became flat and icky, so obviously I went and asked for fresh cake so she directed me to the same icky cake I didn’t want, and I said fresh not this please and she said that the icky cakes were “fresh “ and the only cakes. No effort was made and I might just be annoying for complaining because I’m pregnant, but all I come here for is these cakes and recently every time I come it’s not fresh, after showing the owner the bad meat and bad cakes he didn’t say anything about the meat and then showed me his order placement paper for the cakes which showed as well that they were not fresh when I said so, but instead of him saying they were old and not fresh he said “they just always make it different that’s why it looks different this time” I give up on going here and if you want to keep going good luck let me know if they ever improve in the reviews but after these last couple years I’m officially done wasting money at this place! Also I should mention even though I’m obviously mainly upset about just the cakes I feel as though I should mention my mother said her chicken tasted like rubber. But hey at least the place had decent horchata and chocolate pudding so I had something good for...
Read moreI chuckled while reading these ignorant and ungrateful reviews about this buffet, trust me when I say I have been going here since I was in middle school and its INCREDIBLE. I been here for holidays, and even my college graduation.
I live an hour out now in South Milwaukee, and still NOTHING COMPARES! I drive the 40 minutes just to dine here. Milwaukee establishments are garbage!
There's similar buffets in Milwaukee with the same name, one on Highway 100, and 27th. But all different and for me do not compare whatsoever. Less food, cheaply made entrees, very trashy people (sorry)
Why else is it great here? Well...
The traffic at the Waukesha location is different, its not on a major road or bigger city so there's a peacefulness to the place. Most of the time Asian music is played and the booths have intricate Chinese designs in them. Just very cozy here.
9 times out of 10 the food is STEAMING fresh and quickly replenished.
The choices are amazing, hearty, and of high quality. Peanut butter chicken!? Who else has that! Love it! The general Tso chicken, perfect; juicy but crunchy. The thick hearty and flavorful lo main noodles are everything even while not being cooked with a meat flavor.
The crispy flat dumplings with meat inside that you dip in the soy sauce- my ALTIME FAVORITE, no buffets in Milwaukee carry that entre. The thin white noodles are fantastic, the sesame pork & mac and cheese during lunch, the broccoli chicken, the crab ragoons, the thin pizzas thrown in for a pizza craving, the Chinese doughnuts, the soft serve ice cream, the insanely flavorful Horchata, they even carry root beer.
Y E S !!!!!
God I love this place, I always will. I'm starving for it right now.
May go here for Thanksgiving...
