If only 0 stars were an option. Worst customer service experience I've ever had in my life. The "manager" on duty doesn't even greet people when they walk up to the counter. She just stared at me until I spoke. Handed me my receipt and didn't even tell me how long it would be or that they would call my name when it's ready. I awkwardly walked away to sit down and waited 30 minutes for a garden salad (patiently mind you, the wait didn't bother me because they were busy) My salad was put in my bag upside down by the manager because clearly it was made incorrectly. I asked for no onions, add black olives. Clearly she knew it was wrong and flipped it upside down. Forgot the bread and butter that came with it ~ and I'm sorry, I just waited 30 minutes and paid $5 for a salad. While one of the sub makers is preparing the bread and butter they forgot, the manager is asking him to order her Chinese food from the restaurant next door because she's hungry. The whole team moved like slugs while tons of people we're pouring in the door. And when the manager gave me my bag, she just handed it to me and didn't say anything and turned around. When I said thank you, she didn't respond so I raised my voice and said "Thank you!" to show her how rude she had been. I get home to find my salad made wrong. I call the store to complain and I'm put on hold for 5 minutes. Call back and she answered immediately and didn't even apologize. Extremely disappointing, 30 minutes for a garden salad!...

I have grown up with Cousins Subs. I can remember going for subs on Sundays, or picking up subs and taking them to the lakefront for the fireworks in July. Whenever we were getting subs, it was always Cousins.
I have to say, however, over the years I have begun to dislike Cousins more and more. It's not the same. From them getting rid of my all time favorite sub, the gyro sub, to my terrible experience at the 76th and Layton Ave location (see my review). Cousins has all but lost me.
Now at my most recent visit at the State Street location, I was met with awful customer service. You would think that the person running the register and taking orders would be someone with personality and people skills. This was not the case. The girl working the register would have been better suited for somewhere behind the scenes away from face-to-face interaction.
I also tried the limited time only Wisconsin steak and brat sub. I had higher hopes for it. My thinking is the sloppiness of the construction of this sandwich is what did it in.
I'm really confused as to why Cousins hasn't evolved with the times and done a little remodeling so they can make your sandwich in front of you like so many other places do. It would definitely take away the laziness.
I give Cousins 2 stars instead of 1 for the simple fact that I do still enjoy the seafood sub which was always my number 2 favorite next to the gyro...
Read moreThe food was fine as always. The customer service is atrocious. My cheese curds were not made ahead of time as instructed. The website says they will be unless otherwise specified. When I pointed that out the to employee she said "I don't know anything about that". I told her is must be a lack of communication but it should be addressed or they will continue to have issues. A large man then came over and said "whats the problem" so I showed him what the website said and he said that they have nothing to do with the website, the website I placed my order on. Obviously they are. I tried to let him know about the discrepancy but he just kept saying they were busy and there are other orders and he has other things to do. He said that I can call and complain. Sure I could do that or just not come back. I'm opting for not going back. Too many issues every time I order. This rude encounter was my last straw. Be warned if you choose to patronize...
