First and Bowl – Football Bowling, Group Parties, and Corporate Team Building — Restaurant in Wauwatosa

We booked a nerf party and were told the kids would have 75 minutes in the nerf area and the remaining time in a party room. We arrived early and were taken to a dirty party room. The shared area was over run by the other party there and trashed. We ordered beverages which took over an hour and a parent from our group had to go and get them. The nerf battle started 20 minutes late, the nerf guns were jammed and not working from the party before us. Several kids in our party had cuts and blisters from the guns not working properly. Our nerf play time started late but the “host” if you can call him that still ended it on “time” the kids had less than 60 minutes of nerf war play. And part of this time included the kids having to clean up all the nerf darts! So they maybe got 35 minutes of actual play time!!! Staff NEVER came to check on our group or to clean up in the area. The only person that tried to provide any assistance was the bartender. Eventually we were told the kids could play bags because no one else was using the area and it was free. As the party was wrapping up we saw several staff just standing around and 3-4 at the front desk. We booked this place based on the reviews but I cannot recommend to anyone to have a party here. It was incredibly unorganized, dirty - our shoes stuck to the floor in the party room, outlet covers were missing, wires were even exposed. We were told 75 minutes of nerf play and the kids got maybe 45, most of the guns didn’t work or were hard to use. One of the staff even said this was an ongoing problem with the guns jamming. There is absolutely no structure to the kids parties, and no one ensuring things are running smoothly.

Sure, it was fun. But chaotic fun would be a better phrase to use. They literally got a warehouse, put some nets and a bar up and then opened up which is obviously working for them. But it's a huge space with footballs flying everywhere because lanes aren't separated at all. Its 100 people throwing footballs around. Your pins constantly get knocked over, you're knocking over other pins, hitting people, pausing to allow people to retrieve their footballs. Really no structure to getting a lane either. You're supposed to follow the rules but nobody does so you're at the mercy of people leaving a lane so you can play. I had called ahead not knowing how it worked to put my name in. She took my name and asked how many people and what time, only to show up and they tell me it's all open bowl. Footballs looked like they were 20 years old. Ours had strings hanging off of it. Some looked like they were peewee size. It was also hotter than hell in there. I assume they cant run overhead fans because footballs would fly up there but we ended up leaving and eating somewhere else just because it was so hot. My husband and I had been looking for a place for a group of 15 - 16 year old girls to celebrate my daughters 15th birthday. My daughter decided on bowling and we looked into many bowling places but most were either way to expensive, didn't offer much or just didn't appease us. Well, we were driving on the highway and saw 1st and bowl and decided to see what it was all about. When we drove up it was very quiet, in fact we thought we were in the wrong place. However, when we walked in, it was wonderful. We were greeted very kindly, were able to walk around and tour and decided that we wanted this for the girls. Not only did it offer bowling, but a different flavor of bowling. There was football bowling, corn hole, and basketball. I thought this was great since they wouldn't have to just sit and wait for each person to bowl. We also had the greatest hosts, Hank and Detra, who were very helpful with making my daughter's birthday party a huge success.
