Food was excellent, but the service was terrible. Our waiter never gave us water. We were seated for almost 15 minutes before he ever came over to see of we wanted coffee. Took another 10 minutes to get the coffee. They only give you one piece of toast. Mine was still white. I asked if I could at least get a brown piece of toast, and then about 15 minutes later, they brought me a black piece of toast. The place wasn’t even busy!
Update:
We tried the place again, and we had a different waitress. She was nicer but still the service was slow. There was a young man there who just cleaned up the dirty tables, and he would get us everything that we needed. He would be a much better waiter than the one we had the first time! We even gave him a tip besides the one we gave to the waitress. So we thought maybe it was just a terrible waiter from the first visit.
Well, we just went there again yesterday and we got that same waiter with the dyed blonde hair from our very first visit! He was very rude to my wife and I. She only drinks her coffee a certain way, and the waiter wouldn’t give it to her. We asked him several times to just please heat up the milk, and he refused it every time. He finally said that he will see what he can do. We’ve been to many restaurants and never had any problems with any other restaurant not trying to give her what she wants for her coffee. He also said that they change ingredients all the time, so they didn’t have any brown sugar anymore either. So he brought her a full to the top coffee, and an ounce of cold milk with no hot water and no brown sugar! We just got up and told the hostess that our waiter refused to heat up her milk for her coffee so we were going somewhere else. The rude waiter came over to us and wanted us to pay for the incorrect coffee order that he brought to us, which we never touched, I said we didn’t touch the coffee and the order was incorrect anyways. Then he rudely insulted us as we walked out. He should be fired and never be able to wait on tables again! We then went to Maxfield’s Pancake House, which was just down the road a bit, and we had a great waiter and a...
Read moreWe arrived at the restaurant Sunday at 11am for brunch and put our name in at the hostess stand table for 8 people. We patiently waited 45 minutes for our table. The hostess walks us to a large round table and says this large round table for 6 is ours plus a square table the 4 four. We ask can we slide the square table over so all of us girls are together and the hostess says no. We ask why and she says the robot won't know where to go! Are you serious. I think we can all use common sense. Being that we were all there to make plans for an upcoming trip we decided we would all sit together at the large round table.
We look at the menus and pick out our meals when the waitress comes by she immediately has an attitude and says we need split up between two tables. Why? She proceed to tell us the hostess told us when we checked in that we would be split into two tables. We told her NO she didn't say anything about it. Then her attitude picks up a notch and tells us yes she did!!! My friend who is actually not a confrontational person speaks up and say NO the hostess didn't tell us! She then says this a Covid guideline and they can't have that many people together at one table.
I look out the window and see a large table outside that is empty. I said that's fine we will take the table on the patio. The waitress says in a very unaccommodating tone no you can't have that many people together at one table outside either! Come on!
We all decided to politely get up and leave the restaurant and take our business else where. The tone and how she handled the situation couldn't have been worse. As we are leaving we see two tables with 6+ people at them.
Looking back I wish I would have caused a scene and called them out on it but to be honest I didn't want to ruin our get together. I have never been treated more rudely in life. I will never be eating at Golden...
Read moreMy first and last time coming here for breakfast I always wanted to come here as I have heard nothing but good things about it but first impressions are everything to me the waitress was impatiently kind u know the ones that smile at you with that hurry up look on their face after we placed our order, we did get our food and a reasonable amount of time I ordered cranberry juice, omelette, hashbrowns with cheese, omelette, with dry and cold. My hair grows hard and cold, and the slice of cheese that they put on top of my hashbrowns would not even melt, I ordered sourdough toast that was hard. The butter I put on my toast would not melt and either they don’t have jelly for your toast, or I wasn’t brought any because there was none on the table either my cranberry juice had a dark brownish color and it taste as if it had been sitting out overnight and when I ask the server if I can have another drink after taking only one sip of my cranberry Because it didn’t taste right I was told that if I wanted another drink, I would have to pay for them both because she wasn’t allowed to take the brown juice off of my ticket So I ended up paying for two drinks only to waste one our server didn’t seem very friendly even though I didn’t enjoy my meal I Was eating I asked for a box to take it home to see if I could at least doctor it up to make it edible. My sister-in-law ordered A veggie bowl and wanted to have fruit instead of potatoes, but was told that she would have to pay extra for the fruit of course everybody come to the Golden nest for the robot Xperience, which we didn’t get and I understand that the robot probably can’t get to everyone, but it would’ve been nice that would’ve made that horrible breakfast at...
