I've been to just about every sushi restaurant in the Milwaukee area and I was thoroughly disappointed.
THE FOOD: I ordered their fancy dragon roll that is ADVERTISED and PICTURED to have crazy dragon art and served on this awesome looking plater. There is literally a picture of it on their menu next to the dish and charge $26. I'm happy to pay that for the cool dragon art work and was planning on posting it to the Food Networks snapchat story who I work with from time to time. The roll came out on a simple plate. No dragon artwork, no nothing. The interior of the roll is really just blue rice and tuna... With some fruit in it..
This bothers me for several reasons. I even slept on posting this review and woke up still frustrated. Have some pride in the food you push out. Don't you want every customer to have an awesome experience regardless if they post about your food or not? Secondly, how can you advertise on your menu and your social media the plater, charge $26 for rice and tuna roll, and then serve that to a customer? To give them some credit, if this would even be considered a positive, I asked them to take it back and when they asked why and when I explained to them they offered to have the chef make the artwork and that it would only take two minutes. DO IT THE FIRST TIME!!!! ITS PICTURED AND ADVERTISED ON YOUR MENU!!
THE SERVICE: First off, our waiter was very suite and kind. I do not want this to reflect poorly on her, because she was trying. The training for the staff is poor. I could not hear our server when she spoke and she did not introduce herself by name. When you are charging the prices you are for food, I expect your staff to be well trained and at least share their name with customers. It is more frustrating since I KNOW THIS IS A REOCURRING REVIEW THAT HAS BEEN POSTED SINCE THE FIRST DAY THEY OPENED. I can go back through the reviews and read very clearly that the service has been abysmal. Get in there, and train your staff.
SUMMARY: I let loose a little on this one, mostly since I believe these are very reasonable expectations of a restaurant of their caliber. I hope they can turn it around and your visit is...

Restaurant opens at 5pm. I got there at 5.40pm abd was seated at the bar. Took about 20-25minutes to get my order. I didn't even order any drink. The menu looks great and offer a variety of dish. I ordered Hoi Tod and Amazing Thai roll.
Got the roll after 15-20 minutes. They taste good, but difficult to eat from in my opinion. I understand that the concept of this dish is the fushion between Thai seafood and sushi, and there is a thin slice of lime on each bite. Now, I would assume putting some lime on this roll would be the way to go with this dish since they incorporate Thai seafood and Thai spicy sauce into this dish. But the lime is too thin to squeez out the juice and still has the skin on so you can't really put them on the roll piece and eat it in one go either. So, no way to enjoy it fully in my opinion. The dish overall is a okay, not thing that amazing about it. The squid on top of the roll are good though, but please either have one squid per one bite or cut them up into two smaller pieces, so they can be included in every bites. One single piece of squid on top of two pieces of roll is ridiculous, especially for $20. And the shrimp and scallop included are not even that much compared to the packed cucumber that fill out half of the roll. Almost thought I order a cucumber roll.
Comes 6.40pm. NO sign of another dish, Hoi Tod, to be seen. That is 60 min after I sit in the restaurant and 40 min after I ordered. It is not even that busy. People that sit after me got the food before me. I even came her alone and not a group of 5 or anything. I understand it may take longer to make this dish in the U.S., and I tried to be lenient. But if it is this long, tell me beforehand. Never have to wait for this specific dish this long in my life. I decided to cancel it and pay full price for my other dish. Bartender said sorry. That's it. The water is never refilled, only me and another family at the bar. If you gonna have your customers at the bar, make sure someone can take care of them.

Read moreMy family and I made reservations here for an early dinner on a Friday. The interior is bright and open, likely owing to the fact that this space was previously occupied by a French restaurant that closed shortly after opening. (Could this be indicative of the location?) The restaurant has many tables, but few were occupied. The staff were attentive, making sure to check in and see how we were doing. The food was fairly quick to arrive. We ordered chicken satay, papaya salad, pad see ew, basil fried rice, and two curry dishes (green and massaman). Overall, the food was unmemorable. The satay was cold. Both curry dishes were too watery with a paucity of contents. The only food worth trying was the pad see ew. Noting else stood out. Oddly enough, for a party of four, no serving utensils were provided for sharing. Multiple requests were made for such utensils, but most of these were met with the waitress' blank stare. Even though this is a minor detail, this may be indicative of an overall lack of training for the restaurant staff.
Once dinner was finished and the cheque paid, we sat at the table for a short period of time to chit chat, when, I presume, the manager (or someone with a headset) came over and said, "I have other reservations, and need this table." Ordinarily, I can understand that a restaurant needs to turn over tables quickly to accommodate long lines of customers, but when there are at least 3-4 empty tables (I counted), such a request is unprofessional. It fails to convey a welcoming environment for people to come, eat, and enjoy themselves. Rather, it signals to patrons, "You paid, now leave."
Needless to say, I have no desire to return. There are other Thai and sushi restaurants in the Wauwatosa area that are much, much better. (Kin and Thai-namite immediately come to mind.) To emphasize how unremarkable and forgettable this restaurant is, I forgot the name of the restaurant after I left, and had to look it up to write this review.
