Walters' on North — Restaurant in Wauwatosa

It is a cool hangout place, but knowing that it is in a neighborhood with other dining options, I would avoid ordering food here. Sad that in our first visit we did not get a first good impression. We were hungry and placed our order before most folks and noticed others around us arriving later got their food before we did. After an hour of waiting, I had to go to the bar and ask about our order. We ended up getting our food last. We learned that there is no particular order that the food is prepared in. No first come, first served. Orders are out the kitchen randomly.

I'd hate to give this place a not so good review, but having certain expectations I feel I must. Perhaps some day, I may come back and have a better experience, and am willing to give this place a second chance. My review is from first impression and first hand experience. Stopped in on a Saturday night and was surprised to find it wasn't super busy so we grabbed some seats at the bar. It was a good 5+ minutes, however, before anyone acknowledged us or asked what we wanted to drink, despite the fact that one of the bartenders was standing right in front of us and looked straight at us when we sat down. Same thing when we tried to pay: the one bartender looked at us and our empty glasses then proceeded to pull out his phone, so we had to wait for someone else to help.

We've been there before and the food is alright, but this time saw someone who was preparing the food not wearing gloves and touch their hair / face a handful of times before handling said food.

Might stop in on another night to see if it's any different, but overall this place is a pass...it used to be much better, but now it seems unless you're a regular then good luck...

Came here for the first time to play trivia. The place has super cool, old school vibes. My husband and I were admiring all the unique glass lamps. The place was packed, and they had only 2 staff manning everything. They were hustling and had great attitudes considering how busy they were. They definitely could have used another person helping them. The menu was small, but very reasonably priced. We tried the cheeseburger, fries and cheese curds. For bar food, it was decent. Not super flavorful, but we enjoyed it for what it was. While trivia was fun at this location, and the host did a good job, it is clear they have a lot of regulars who make themselves known. These people were pretty obnoxious and would talk over the host or yell out answers. Not sure we will be back for trivia, but may come on a different night of the week if...
