Me and my husband came here on the 4th of July before our 6 hour drive home. We were sat with no wait, and after 30 minutes of no server coming to check on us (but everyone around us was being served) I asked the host whose section we were in. Our server then came and apologized for our wait, and got our drink and food order. No biggie. This was at 6:20. Almost an hour goes by and still no food, or refills. The table beside us was angry for us, they got there after us and weāre now waiting on their check. At 7:20 the manager comes up to us and apologizes, saying they had lost our order ticket. thatās fine, I understand mistakes happen, and they may be understaffed. They offered us the meal for free, and said they would have it out immediately. Another 40 minutes go by, and I was ready to walk out. A little after 8 The server then brings us our food in a to-go container/bag and walks OFF. I was insulted, we just waited 2 hours for to-go food, when we sat inside for a reason. We took the food and ate it on the porch outside, only to find that HALF the food we ordered wasnāt even there. AND somehow it was almost cold!!! At this point I was done. The food was free, and I wasnāt going to wait any longer for the food I was missing, so we left. We have been here many times. I actually used to work at this location 3 years ago before my husband went into the military. The service is ALWAYS SLOW and BAD. My husband waited 30 minutes for a refill on his drink and i didn't get one until we were done and i asked for it togo. The food ALWAYS takes an hour MINIMUM. I'm sure the managers can see how long their average ticket time is... and it's definitely long. My husband's side salad came out with his meal and the biscuits came out with the meal. I don't know why the Waycross location can't get it together. It doesn't matter if it's a weekday or weekend, middle of the day or busy time.... it's always horrible. They are charging extra for watermelon lemonade that tastes watered down and barely has any flavor... and then they don't bring refills. I love how cracker barrel responds to people who leave good reviews, but not bad ones.
I left the review below 2 or 3 years ago: We've lived in waycross for 3 years now, and we have only had 1 good experience at this location. I was an avid guest to cracker barrels throughout the Midwest and while traveling. It was one of my favorite places to stop. Not so much anymore. This location is drowning. Management is obviously lacking. No communication, bad service, food taking forever or not coming out at all, food made or cooked wrong, slow and poor service, and a total lack of caring from management when a complaint is made. We were there for one hour and did not get even a glass of water. We did not have anyone even take our drink order until I asked to speak to a manager after waiting 45 minutes. Twenty of those minutes were spent at the hostess stand waiting to be sat before someone stated the hostess had left for the night. The manager was at a table within view of us but on the other side of the restaurant, sitting and laughing while another waitress was eating. The same one who finally sat us and said someone would be back with us. Once our drink order was taken, we waited another 15 minutes before finally leaving. Most managers or decent waitresses would have at least ran our drinks out to us after taking the order and knowing we had been waiting for 45 minutes. She did not even apologize. She actually said "so you want me to come take your drink order?" I had to ask for her to please do so. We had 2 kids with us as well and was hoping to get them fed and home.
