New Hong Kong Restaurant — Restaurant in Waycross

This place has terrific food, but terrible customer service!! We always call our order in to go... The same EXACT thing every time! So the owner knows us by heart, order and all. Well, when they left half of our order out and I called back in to let them know, I spoke with a gentleman that stated that he would write my info down and the next time we placed our order they Would be happy take care of it. So, about 3 was later we decide we want to order and I remember that we have this order that is owed to us sitting there. I call in, talk to the Mgr, explain that I'm calling to get the order we were promised, and he says that he is the only man that answers the phone, I'm lieing, if I'm not going to order and pay for my food don't call back and hangs up in my face!!!! Keep in mind we used to eat about once a week here because it's cheap and u get a good deal for your money. I was shocked. Needless to say, they have now officially lost our business. His daughter was rude anyway, but we over looked her. But there was absolutely NO reason for this kind of treatment when they made the mistake. My family and I have always gone to New Hong Kong restaurant for our Chinese food cravings! We have gone there for so long now, that they are literally like family! They have watched our sons grow from grade school age, to now having families of their own. And, they always remember who we are! Whether it's my husband and I going in, or if our sons are going in without us. They always greet us with smiles, hugs, and/or a hand shake! And, their restaurant is always clean! They may not have as big a variety as New Beijing, but I don't leave New Hong Kong with stomach issues lol js. The atmosphere is homey, the people are so sweet, and everything is cooked to perfection! My family and I actually consider the owner and staff family! They are lovely people! They have put up with quite a bit of ignorance in this little backwoods town too, if you know what I mean, and have always handled so much better than I would have let me tell you. They always responded with curteousness and professionalism! No matter how they were being treated. Literally the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. My expectations were already low, but after my pregnant wife was unable to eat, one of the — I presume — owners very condescendingly told my wife, who DID NOT eat, that she charges full price whether someone eats or not. They then also tried to charge for my child who l explicitly said was under two. We first tried to explain this to our waitress who kindly went back to ask about it I assume, and that is where the kindness ended as she returned with the same exact unchanged receipt, with no further words. We offered to pay for myself and my wife's drink, which is when we talked to the assumed owner. On top of this absolutely abysmal service, the food was all cold, the chicken tasted like kibble, and thats what was at least on the bar available to eat, which a lot was empty the entire duration we were there. The absolute disrespect from a business owner, to talk down on a person simply trying to explain an unfair charge. Place seems greedy and cheap, looking to cut corners where possible and unwilling to treat its customers with respect and fairness. Will not be visiting...
