This was our first and worst experience at BJ’s. While scanning our items, one product would not register. The machine repeatedly asked us to call for an associate. We did—twice. Both times, the associate brushed us off, saying the weighing was fine and to just keep scanning, insisting it was “just the machine.”
After finishing, we went to checkout. Sonja assisted us and scanned every item on our receipt. She then claimed the Dove body wash was not scanned. We explained we didn’t realize it hadn’t gone through because the machine kept beeping, and we asked her to scan it there. She flatly refused and sent us back, keeping our receipt and all our items in the cart.
Back at the kiosk, the same error continued. Even the associate couldn’t fix it until he manually entered the item number from BJ’s online. When we returned, Sonja glared at us as if we were trying to steal. I made it clear the issue was not our fault, and she immediately snapped “NO” in a rude, dismissive tone.
This behavior is completely unacceptable. The problem came from BJ’s faulty machine, yet Sonja treated us with zero respect, no apology, and no effort to understand the situation. Instead, she chose to be confrontational, unprofessional, and downright rude.
We’ve shopped at many BJ’s locations and have never met anyone worse than Sonja. Her behavior is a disgrace to customer service, and it reflects poorly on this store’s management.
This pic of the particular product is not registered in the kiosk system and hence this issue happened. May be, train your poor associates like Sonja better than your customers. Will never ever shop at BJs...
Read moreIf it was possible to give 0 stars or negative stars I surely would. At this point just close this club or don’t have staff working here because they are absolutely useless anyways. Had a cart full of groceries only to be told that I had to scan all items myself because there’s no cashiers…however, you see an abundance of employees doing absolutely nothing but standing around gossiping and on their phones. After wasting so much time looking for an employee I was finally so called helped by Victor. Victor scanned my items and was tossing them into my cart which led to him making a gallon of milk leak and spilled my blueberries all over the floor. He then proceeded to tell me that he would wait while I went to grab another container even though I wasn’t the one who had made the mess. Needless to say, we all spend way too much money at this establishment to receive such piss poor service. I canceled my membership and will never return here. Go to Costco where employees are more than happy to help...
Read moreI am very frustrated with the online tire order. I found the tires I needed but after pressing the secure checkout a message "Something went wrong. Call 1-800-BJS-CLUB" appeared. I called the number and spoke to a guy who said that he is in the tire department. I explained the problem. He found for me the proper tires and said to go the the website. I told him again that the website is not functioning properly. In the past I used to call the tire department, explained them what tires I need and scheduled an appointment. When coming to the store I paid and in half an hour my tires were installed. Why to complicate the matter now?! I called the store manager, but she couldn't help me either. The BJ's website rejected my login info that was saved by the computer. I had to create a new password. However the new login info was rejected too. So I called the help services and asked to transfer me to the IT team. A representative told me that IT doesn't speak to...
