Waffle House — Restaurant in Waynesboro

Came and left in 5 minutes. Walked in and were greeted by one employee who offered us the two available tables by the restrooms. There were 5 of us so we did walk to the other end to see what our seating options were. The other employee told us we could only sit 4 to a table. Ok, got that, thanks. We went back to the ones by the restroom and he told us we couldn't sit there. What changed in that 1 minute? The tables were not blocked off. So we went BACK to the other end and sat down. My husband set his vape on the table and the second employee told him "No smoking in here, or vaping. If the health inspector comes in here, not only are we gonna get in trouble, you're gonna get in trouble." First off, he was not planning on sitting there to vape, he wanted a meal after being on the road all day. Secondly I think anyone with common sense knows that you aren't allowed to smoke or vape in most restaurants. Immediately after this he asked what we would like. We had not even gotten a chance to see the menu. He gave us silverware (without wearing gloves - where is that health inspector?), told us we had to scan the code on the napkin dispenser, then just stood over us as we scrambled with our phones. At that point we were debating leaving but we told him to give us a minute. I'm normally laid back about problems at restaurants as I work in the business myself. But this was all a bit much for me. We talked about heading to the other Waffle house nearby and he must have been listening because as we walked out he made sure to tell us that "the policy is the same at all Waffle Houses". Well we are currently waiting for a table at the other Waffle House and it seems their policy is actually to make their customers feel welcome. We will wait for the good service. The waiter, Tony, could use a refresher on customer service. I ordered eggs over easy. Tony brought me undercooked Sunnyside up eggs. When I asked to have the eggs properly cooked to my order Tony thought I was asking for an education on waffle house. He began schooling me all while holding the plate of eggs that needed to be cooked more. Once he finished I politely asked to have what I ordered. Tony then takes the eggs to the line cook. The line cook began scraping the uncooked clear goo from around the yolk and then sent the plate back to me. Once again I had to protect my health by pointing out that salmonella is a food poisoning found in undercooked eggs. I then pointed to the warning on their menu. Tony was entirely missed off at this point and took the plate and threw its contents in the garbage. The line cook made Sunnyside up eggs for the second time, which wasn't my order, but he made sure to break the yolks to be safe. When Tony dropped the plate in front of me I realized MY ERROR. I had accidentally walked into a waffle house that did not yet have an accurate review. We typically have a great experience here, but today was short of that. If you get the waitress McKaylin, ask for someone else!!! Skinny young girl with black hair in a messy bun. Her first mistake was brining a coke that was clear. We all know how fountain sodas work. Didn't seem pleased when we mentioned that the syrup might be all because coke isn't clear. Our waffles were not well done. We ordered our hashbrowns to be well done and no butter on the toast. As she shouted out the order like they typically do, she didn't mention either as we ordered. Then handed us the check before we even received our food. When we got the food and noticed it wasn't as order we noticed she never wrote it down as ordered. She didn't check on us one time throughout our entire meal- UNTIL I asked another waitress for a box telling her the service was poor. She apologized and mentioned how the shift exchange can be crazy- understandable but not excusable. Our waitress was miserable and unprofessional.
