My family and I went into the Waynesboro store today and were greeted by a very nice sales lady Helen. She showed us many couches. There was a VIP event and Helen told us to go sign up and that you get a free gift which were a pair of earrings. I went to sign up and the man in a suit with several rings on his hand was extremely rude. I didn't get his name. He asked me my phone number and address which I kindly provided to him, then he proceeded to type the info into the computer. Nothing came up and he asked me rudely if this was the number I received the invite at. I told him I didn't receive an invite and that Helen directed me to sign up. He started talking to another employee about how they cant just send people over to get the gift and went on and on, even had this other employee call up front to tell them. I thought this was highly unprofessional and I wanted to tell him to shove the gift where the sun doesn't shine. I felt as if I was unwelcome as a guest and customer. I was going to purchase a leather sectional from Helen but I will NEVER purchase anything from this company EVER! I'm new to the area and I was appalled by his behavior. It was horrible. Sorry Helen, but you can thank him for ruining a sale for you because we won't be back. Go to other furniture stores because this store won't appreciate you. Ashley's furniture in Staunton gets an A+ in my book. They were absolutely wonderful and will get my sale. Reading the other reviews it's safe to say they need to figure out how to hire reputable employees. The guy I encountered today needs to be fired. Thats the only way I'll come back. Totally disgusted! One person ruined our experience. I wonder how many other...
Read moreWe went into the Grands store in Waynesboro eight months ago, and the sales associate did not call us back with the requested information to move forward with a purchase therefore we bought furniture elsewhere. Yesterday, on Black Friday, we went into the store and long and behold, the same sales associate was following us around. We tried to get another sales team leader’s attention to no avail. He supplied us incorrect information because today when we went to purchase, it was not accurate. We actually called a different location but they were out of stock. We decided to move forward purchasing a set but only under the understanding that a different associate would finalize the purchase. The checkout lady was not enthusiastic or appreciative either. We hope that delivery is much more successful. We definitely will not consider this store in the future.
UPDATE: 1.6.2024!!! We had an absolutely appalling experience with Grand Home Furnishings from the first visit on Black Friday until this past Saturday dealing with their management and Mr. Tincher. After having multiple issues with their customer service, their delivery personnel were incompetent and not only dropped the pieces right out of the truck onto the driveway but then left the plastic open (during a downpour) soaking the brand new furniture. We anticipated a 50% credit on 1 of the 3 large pieces purchased as a courtesy, but Mr Tincher was arrogant and only offered a minimal reimbursement for the issue and 6 weeks of the most unprofessional customer service ever!!!!! Grand HF should be embarrassed and evaluate who they want representing their brand in...
Read moreI purchased a couch in 2021 from Natasha. In addition to the couch, she encouraged me to buy a 5-year "Platinum Protection Plan" to warranty the couch in the event of damage. My couch was damaged fairly early on so I called Grand to file the claim. They took several months to send out a technician (twice, extended periods apart) who was inexperienced and unhelpful, saying that my new couch is a terrible quality and that I got what I paid for. When I contacted Grand again to find resolution, they said they would come out again- but never did. It turned out that they never actually filed with my protection plan, but instead were sending their own tech for a regular warranty which only extends 1 year. They never once advised me to contact anyone other than them about my couch or I would have immediately. When I was finally advised by Natasha--a year or more later--to file a Platinum Protection Plan claim, I did.
Platinum Protection did not agree to fill the warranty, as they said the damage coincided with wear-and-tear (which is unrelated). They would not repair or replace the broken areas of the couch. They also said that their technician described the couch as having "a poor frame quality" despite the hefty expense of the couch.
The protection plan company and Grand's both keep passing me off to eachother.
Now I'm stuck with an almost-$3,000 couch/warranty plan that is entirely broken and unusable.
I've had far better experiences with Ashley Furniture and Badcock. I will never make this mistake with Grand again. There just isn't any accountability or follow-through at Grand, as I judge by...
