If honesty and integrity are important to you in a jeweler, avoid Lemons Jewelry.
I took in my wedding band set to be resized, and after trying on their different ring gauges, we agreed on size 6¼. When the rings came back, however, they were tighter than I had experienced when trying on their ring gauge. I came back to the store after a week, and I first asked to try on their ring gauge again. The 6¼ ring gauge was definitely more comfortable than the rings that were returned to me. I then asked to see the size of my rings on their equipment.
The lady behind the counter slid my engagement ring on their mandrel and tried to tell me that the bottom edge of the diamond setting showed the size of the ring: 6¼. That was the first red flag. It is obviously wrong to size a ring based on the bottom edge of the setting. I asked to see the mandrel, and I turned the ring around, showing that the band was hitting at exactly size 6. She asked what I wanted to do about it, and I said that I wanted it resized to the size we had agreed on and for which I had already paid.
I left the rings in the store, and soon I received a call from the owner of the store. He claimed that the rings were the correct size, and he asked me to come back to the store so that he could prove it. When I arrived, he pulled out other mandrels that he possessed, and showed me that he had three that sized my ring at 6¼. The one that I had seen on my first visit was “new” and “inaccurate.”
I told him that I would take these rings to two different Jewelers, and have them independently sized. If the other Jewelers confirmed what he was telling me, then I would do nothing and admit that he was right. But if they confirmed the first finding, then I would be writing about my experience. At this he got very irate, and suggested that other Jewelers might not have accurate equipment. He knew that his 3 mandrels were accurate, and even though he possessed another that was fully ¼ a size off, that was the inaccurate one.
The first place I went to confirmed that both rings were size 6 (they tried both rings on two different mandrels). The second place I visited called it a “6-plus”—A little larger than a 6 but definitely not 6¼.
Since Lemons Jewelers sent out the rings to be resized, they cannot be held personally responsible if the size was wrong when they were returned. But the size was wrong, and instead of making it right, they twice tried to deceive me into believing that there was no problem, and the difference in size was all in my head.
If other customers are comfortable with this kind of experience, then by all means visit this store. Otherwise, let the...
Read moreIf I could rate this store a "0" I would! I took an opal ring in that I had purchased from them. It was an opal ring with diamonds along the side and one of the diamonds had fallen out. I made sure that the repair I wanted was written down correctly and left with my receipt. Two weeks later I had not heard anything so I called and was told the ring was not back yet. After another two weeks I called again to be told that the ring had been back for about three weeks! When I went in to get my ring my beautiful opal had been replaced with an opal with a huge black mark on the top and the diamond that I needed replaced WAS STILL NOT FIXED! The owner was unapologetic and wanted to charge me for the repair to which I refused stating that they had not repaired anything and switched out my opal. This place lives up to it's...
Read moreThis is the WORST jewelry store in this area. Do not go here. I just had a watch that was sent off for 3 weeks to get "repaired" on their wishy warranty my husband purchased. The watch came back and is STILL NOT FIXED!!!!! The woman on the phone told me to just bring it back and they will send it off again! Agh! I don't understand the purpose of purchasing a warranty if it doesn't fix the issue. Why should I waste my time and energy taking this piece of junk watch back to LEMON'S JEWELRY if they aren't going to take care of the issue anyway?!! The customer service stinks and the people here are NOT helpful...
