TLDR: It's incredible, please give them your business and money so they survive in Waynesville.
This tea house is absolutely incredible! I took my mother here as this is the first place I've seen offer high tea since Chelsea's in Biltmore Village closed, and Crown and Thistle is miles more memorable! The service was delightful and friendly, the teas (I had April's special Brunch in Paris, and my mother had Boulder Breakfast, I believe) were delicious blends that had wonderful flavor while still being delicate and smooth - I was very pleased to be able to buy a bag to go home with me - and the food was AMAZING. I can't describe how well the flavors blended, how delicious everything on the April High Tea menu was, and how impressed I was with the inspired flavors and how well the chef must know flavor profiles. I can't pick a favorite, but one that stands out is the lemon bar with herbs. The herb blend she chose perfectly complemented the sweet tartness of the lemon bar. You'll even love the complimentary bathroom decor! You are greeted with a smile, provided ample time to choose your pot of tea. Our table of four chose the Classic Afternoon Tea at $40 per person (tax and tip included) and all chose a different tea. I chose Huckleberry Happiness - a great choice. As we went on March 17, our dessert tier had a substitute item for St Patrick's Day. If you are wondering whether finger food can fill you up... Yes, it can. Each portion for each tier and your own pot of tea plus ice water is satisfying and filling. An absolute great price for the Classic Afternoon Tea. Reservations are highly recommended. We were delighted when both Rebecca Bradley and Melissa Roop stopped by our table - both were enthusiastic when discussing their path to opening their tea room, and, for future tea additions and surprise changes to their menus. Crown & Thistle Tea Room is a great addition to...
Read moreOn a recent trip to the Asheville area, a friend recommended a new tea spot called Crown & Thistle Tea Room. I love tea, and I thought I had a good understanding of what to expect when I got there, but there was so much more.
We opted for the full tea service, which includes delicious housemade finger sandwiches and delectable desserts that complement almost any selection from their extensive menu. Whether you like your tea black, green, white, or some other combination, Crown & Thistle Tea Room has it all. They even have great options for the tea-curious in your friend group.
