Los Amigos — Restaurant in Waynesville

I know that everyone has to know by now that I love Mexican food. For me I have saved the best for last. I realize that everyone likes different things from the food that they love but for me this restaurant is absolutely my favorite. The restaurant itself is located in a small space. Tables and booths are available. There is also a lovely outside patio area for sitting when the weather is nice. The service is friendly and customer oriented. The chips and salsa that are served right after you are seated are always very good. You know that they are fresh and warm and taste wonderful. You can also tell that the salsa is homemade from the freshest ingredients. It is flavored just right, not too hot or mild. Everything I have ever eaten I have enjoyed. Just when I find what I believe will be my favorite I try something new and have a new favorite. The menu offers many choices and vegetarian options are available in several different options. The staff is friendly and many frequent customers you can tell have developed friendships with the people who own the business and the employees. If you love iced tea some of the best I have had has been here. Several different beers are offered along with mixed drinks. Excellent service and food. Always get a warm greeting when you arrive. Bacon and Chipotle quesadilla is my favorite.

05/01/2022:. After church lunch today. Very busy but still great service and food. Had the Chori Pollo today.

07/21/2022: An early supper for us at 5:15 pm and the place was already quite busy. Very few available tables inside or out. Tonight, I enjoyed Chori Pollo and my wife has Southwestern fish. Both were very good as usual. Customers appeared to be a mix of locals and tourists.

05/19/2025: Stopped by for my favorite Bacon Burrito today. I was there before the lunch crowd so had the terrace all to myself. Service, as always, was great. There was a large group of construction workers inside placing orders. My meal still came out quickly and was delicious. With tip, I paid $24.00 for chips, salsa, drink, and the burrito. This is a good price in our area as a burger, fries, and medium drink at a local drive through...

Always fast and friendly. The food is great. Last time I was there, they brought my kids beef enchiladas instead of the cheese enchiladas that we ordered. After kindly bringing it to the waiter's attention, he immediately brought out the cheese enchiladas and left the beef enchiladas in case we wanted them (which we ended up eating one out of the two). Then when we got the check, they ended up not charging us for ANY of the enchiladas for the "inconvenience". In my opinion, it was no inconvenience at all since he resolved it so fast AND they didn't even charge us. It is great food and service like this that keeps me going back to this restaurant. They are larger Mexican restaurants in Waynesville, but dont be fooled by their appearances. This is BY FAR the best mexican in Waynesville! Take it from a Houstonian like me.
