It's a nice playground with a good thick layer of wood chips for those falls that kids will have. The equipment is large enough for various age kids to enjoy, & a 5'4" adult, such as myself, can also have fun, if they choose! There's also a smaller playground next to the picnic area which is a good place for a family get together or birthday party. Men & women's restrooms are close. They offer disc golf, tennis courts, & a skate park for any skateboarders. From what I understand, from others, is that the disc golf course is comparably a pretty good course. I have walked the 18 holes, and that, in itself, is a workout! The inside does have a large pool, it can also be reserved for parties. I know there's a gym the, but I can't personally vouch for anything other than the pool because I've never taken the opportunity to see what all was offered. My personal favorite is simply walking the quiet, peaceful trail that goes along beside a gently moving creek. I almost forgot that there is also a dog park! There's a fenced in area for them to play and a trail they can walk with you, on their leash. This is a very nice, and large rec park. If you're looking for a more laid back pace, then everyone is sure to find something they enjoy doing...
Read moreI love this place. Well maintained trails and/or sidewalks much of which runs along a stream. Wonderful stretches of shade from beautiful old trees, many of which are labeled. A serenity park with beautiful plantings and a bench next to the water. A fenced dog park, 2 for different sized dogs. A frisbee golf course. A skate park they somehow keep clean, well maintained and respectful (I have seen 3 year olds share with teens). A running track, tennis court, soccer field and two play grounds. And all this in about a 3 mile area anchored by the rec center. I am really not sure how they could improve...
Read moreReally nice, spread out park. Restrooms closed due to Covid19 risks. Smart IMHO. There's a nice rushing stream that runs through almost all of the park itself with paved parallel paths next to the water. Several covered pavilions with wooden picnic tables. Nice if it's raining. Always a great breeze which refreshes on warm days and chills on cold days. Has tennis courts and a Frisbee golf course behind the courts. Also a fenced dog park and skateboard park in close proximity to each other. Great spread out park atypical for a small town like Waynesville. Go and enjoy it! Last...
