My wife and I came here about a month ago and we were so enthusiastic about our experience that we just had to leave wonderful 5 star reviews. Well, we have come back twice since then to our new found favorite pizza joint, but unfortunately our most recent experience was so sour that we have decided not to come back. The food was still mostly okay, though not consistent with our first experience. It was the poor service that turned us off in the end. Before I elaborate, I just want to preface that we both come from a service background and not only left generous tips, but were very vocal about our enthusiasm to the staff all three visits. So, while reviewing the menu before placing our order, we noticed that in the corner it said that they offer a free cheese pizza if you leave a nice review. While eating the actual pizza that we ordered, my wife decided that she was not fond of this particular pie, so she gets up to order her favorite, the margarita. We weren’t asking for a refund or anything because I was still fine with the original pizza we ordered. While she was up at the counter paying for the margarita pie, she inquired about that free cheese pizza, since we had left such wonderful reviews before. Well they said no and that the review must be day of. Okay, fine. We weren’t the least bit upset about that, even though the lady was a bit rude about it. The next thing that happened though was just down right strange. With our new order in, our number on the table, a full box of pizza, and an almost full glass of wine still on the table, I went to the bathroom and my wife stepped out for less than a minute to hit her vape. When she came back (I was still in be bathroom) they had cleared our table of our drinks! What?! I honestly have never had this happen anywhere before and couldn’t help but feel that it was a bit vindictive. So I decided to order a beer and confront them about it. They basically told me that we can’t just leave our table at the same time and that we were just out to get free food ($24 in tips this one visit BTW). It really is a shame because this place really was our new favorite up to this point, but they just lost 2 would-be consistent customers. I told them this, though they didn’t really seem to care. Disappointing to say the least!
Update: This response is absurd. They literally copied and pasted this same response to my wife's review. I don't know who these people think they they are. We were both standing right there talking to the ladies behind the bar. By the way, there's a response from the owner to a review below that literally says that there are "no strings attached" to the free pizza for a review. It's honestly pretty sad that Dough Boys has to bribe people with a free pizza or wings to get a good review. Why not try starting with good customer service? I am updating this to...

UPDATE: This facility and staff are abusers. Stay far away.
I liked the food! It's ridiculous how we were treated poorly, for absolutely no reason. It's egregiously wrong. Customer service isn't something everyone has the capacity to handle.
Nice try! My Google review account has a lot of merit. You don't get to lie about me and my character and reputation, publicly try to GASLIGHT me, try to HUMILIATE me, and DISCRIMINATE against me at your place of business. This is a warning against your business. I will be reporting your business to Google for slander, harassment, defamation of my character, and bribery. I hope you guys get better and learn how to embrace new customers who actually started off wanting to support your place of business!
ORIGINAL: The wings and pizza are delicious, as I had previously posted a few weeks ago. I deleted my previous review after our experience there tonight. The service staff is toxic, downright hateful, and seriously lacking in welcoming new customers. I hope I never become that full of bitterness, anger and hostility like the two women who were working there tonight.
One month and three separate visits later come down to the disturbing way we were treated tonight. All I wanted was the wings and pizza, to lift my spirits. I didn't ask or pay for their misery and hate that was unloaded onto us.
On our first visit there, we didn't even leave the restaurant before posting our 5-star reviews! We loved it so much, we were bummed that we had not discovered it sooner. I was so excited on the first visit, that I had to tell the server, and thank them for having quality food. Come to find out, she is the owner's wife. She barely even cared that I was super excited. A few days later, I returned for a take-out order because I was so jazzed about the food. I waited 15–20 minutes, at the end of the bar, for my order and watched it die in the expo window. But hey, I shrugged off that guy's poor attitude and service, and went back for a third transaction. Each time I visited, I tipped over the standard 20% because I was in the service industry for a decade!
It's really frightening to be treated this badly for liking your food. I don't need anything for free, and I do not appreciate, on any level, that woman accusing me of being indigent. It's such a shame to have staff like that rotting your business from the inside out.
Obviously, I will never give my money to your business again. Hopefully this doesn't fall on deaf ears. I can only imagine how many other people have had to experience the wrath of your staff trying to rain on parades and kill good spirits. I am still in shock by the way we were treated tonight. It's deplorable and...
Read moreFirst impressions mean everything and this one was a BIG misfire.
My wife and I decided to order from them to go so we can catch the sunset at cowee mountain overlook being it wasn’t far from there and honestly we have seen ads for this place all over facebook and it looked amazing. The atmosphere inside was awesome, very comfy and chill vibe but that’s where that vibe ended.
Wifey called in the order just after 6pm, mind you we live in west Asheville and google maps says 37 mins from our door to theirs, lady on the phone said 30-35 mins as we ordered their fried mozzarella and a large sandlot pizza which was perfect for drive time! We get there and I parked and walked in and the lady at pickup asked my name, and she said pizza should be done in a few mins….. 10 pass(it’s currently 6:50/55) and I ask how’s it looking? She checks and says looking at someone else’s pizza “well this just came out and was called in at 6:47 and yours was next so it’ll be about 15 or so minutes” to which I said no, my wife called it in before we drove here which took almost 40 minutes, please check again. She goes to the computer and pops out a ticket and goes to the kitchen, some guy which seemed like FOH manager asked if I was being helped and I said yeah just waiting still to pickup my order as others are getting their food and leaving.. it’s now 7:15 and nothing still, the guy comes up to get someone’s order and he asks me if I was waiting for another order and I said no, I’m still waiting on my order, he asked if something was wrong with it and I said I know as much as you do at this point(fried mozzarella hits the counter). He looks to the woman I was dealing with whom I already paid for our order which I wish I hadn’t because I was fuming at this point and so was my wife sitting in the truck, and he asks the woman, “what was wrong with his order?” she says “nothing was wrong why?” He says “then why is he still here? What is wrong with his order?” She said “nothing was wrong, they never got the ticket” and he shakes his head and apologizes to me and walks off. It’s now 7:26 and our pizza is up and I get our food and we get out of there as fast as can be to try to still make the sunset. We ate the Fried mozzarella as I drove which was very tasty even though the marinara was cold and made a big mess in the truck, and we ate a few slices and made sunset with 15 minutes to spare(sunset was 8:04)
The pizza was good and we will try this place again after this debacle but the next pizza better be off the charts to make...
